I don't think it is possible to beat Avatar's WW total. Endgame might be able to beat the domestic total.

I'd be pretty hard-pressed to see Avatar reclaim its superlative. Yeah yeah I know people like James Cameron and all. But the 2009 film's cultural impact has been pretty harsh in retrospect. He should had gotten the first sequel out by 2012, and no later than 2015.

I honestly could see these sequels being one of the biggest implosions of all time I mean 1 billion for 4 movies as well.

Cameron has lost his mojo. You should strike while the iron is still hot, not when it has gone cold to the touch. Avatar 2 should have been made in 2012

Lets at least wait til we see a trailer for Avatar 2 first before we say the King of the World has "lost his mojo" . We don't know what he has up his sleeve yet with Avatar 2. Also , Cameron is the the man at sequels (Aliens and T2). and they took awhile to be made too He definitely raises the stakes in them.

They depend on the success of 2 and 3. What does that tell you? That tells me the studio even has their doubts. It's been waaaaaay too long, and nobody I know gives two shits about Avatar anymore. We could be setting up for an epic bomb the likes of which the world has never seen before. Fair points of course but it would be foolish as hell to doubt James Cameron . I mean come on, they thought he was crazy to make Titanic (became the #1 film of all time at the box office) . They thought he was insane to make Avatar with a no name lead, massive budget about blue aliens (became the #1 film of all time at the box office) . All I'm getting at is that James Cameron's track record is insanely legit and while Avatar 2 probably won't make as much as the 1st one, its highly unlikely that it'll be "an epic bomb" lol.

And that's just it, you can't really discount Cameron because the dude always ends up coming through as well.

I'm looking forward to the Avatar sequels more than Infinity War or Endgame but the box office figures for Endgame are astronomical and are going to take some beating and as much as i'd like them to i don't think the Avatar sequels are going to get near them

Means very little wth money worth less every year. Adjusted for inflation, Gone With the Wind is still no.1
