Who are they kidding? I doubt HBO is gonna film the final season again. Speaking hypothetically, say HBO actually says okay and redoes it. If the fans are not still not satisfied, then what? To be fair, I haven't seen a single episode (I plan to once season 8 is done) but this is akin to asking a movie to be remade because you left the theater unhappy. It's just goofy as fuck.

I don't get these things at all, just like what happened with The Last Jedi. Okay, you didn't like it, maybe you even hated it (personally I think the current season is okay, but I do have some issues with it), but how arrogant do you have to be to try to demand a new season when thousands of people have spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours into making this. How do you think those people would feel if they'd have to redo something they put their heart and soul in for the past 2 years and throw all their hard work into the trash just because people don't like the end result? As the OP said, it's exactly like demanding that a movie has to be changed when you leave the theater and you don't like the movie you just saw.

Probably most of those are the same people that loved Endgame and had no issues with that abysmal writing.
People just hear someone else say “the writing is bad” and follow along. They don’t actually know why or how it could be fixed.

And about 60 million world wide people have watched the show (season 8), So if 837,069 people have signed it, that is 1.40 % of the people watching the show. So less than 2% of the people watching the show has signed this moronic petition.

You know, the biggest winner here is George R. R. Martin. Whatever people hated about this season, he can revise for his book series in the future.

You'll hardly find anyone who dislikes GoT more than me, but...if this isn't the age of astronomical entitlement, IDK what is. Who in the absolute hell has the audacity to believe they can force a writer, or any artist, to comply to their whims?
Does art even exist in the 21st century? Is everything just propaganda/fan enslavement these days?

I'll tell you right now that if he says that he is happy with what the writers of "GAME OF THRONES" have been doing in Season 8 then that immediately overrules all of the Fans thoughts and opinions about it, means that they are all wrong, and makes all of their hate and criticism completely irrelevant.

But GoT is on a channel that doesn't really use advertisers (HBO gets most of it's revenue from subscrption fees). It's why Bill Maher is still on the channel despite some controversies he's been in.

I stopped watching game of thrones after the first episode seemed like a show for perverts in my opinion.

I'm about the last person who would even consider this show as having anything to do with 'art', per se---but even so, I agree that it's fan hubris at its worst to demand a complete rewrite to comply with their notions of how the plot 'should' proceed. Even junk harbors some degree of integrity as having been the brainchild of its' creator and shouldn't be subject to revision because a cadre of the childish think that their ideas should be permitted to pre-empt that creator's own vision of the work.

I watched the battle of kings landing last night. No complaints here. I guess the petition is just a way of demonstrating dissatisfaction by a number of fans. whatever.

Probably most of those are the same people that loved Endgame and had no issues with that abysmal writing. I'd say the same people who liked Infinity War, who liked that for its dark, edgy ending because they knew it wasn't permanent. Once you introduce actual stakes, taking risks suddenly becomes a no-no.

Not much of a risk as much as a slap in the face.
