I can't take anyone seriously who threatens to ban any of the new movThey complained before the movies even came out, because they're simply anti-Disney.ies, but openly defends the prequels. That's who these new "critics" are.

Star Wars fans are almost impossible to please these days. These days? They’ve always been a bunch of whiny bitches. Remember what they were saying when the prequels came out? “Luca$ raped my childhood!!!!111” etc. Funny how they love them now all of a sudden... So is any and all criticism of the franchise invalid?

If there are fans of anything boycotting it before its even come out... then they're NOT fans. Period. Fans give the thing a chance before they shoot it down.

It's a sad feeling when the only reason you go see a new Star Wars film at the big screen is almost out of compulsion because you saw all the rest on the big screen (well outside of IV because I was about 1 year old and Solo because I just really had no interest). I hate feeling that way but The Last Jedi was really that bad.... See... I don't get that. I had my issues with TLJ, but that one movie does not ruin my experience with all the other movies in the franchise. I still like ANH, ESB, ROTJ, ROTS, Rogue One and yes, even Solo.
And I'll even go as far as to say that TLJ was not that bad as a movie, it just didn't deliver what we wanted as SW fans. TLJ is still a waaaaaayyyyy better movie than TPM or AOTC. Wayyyyy better!
And I am looking towards TROS with lots of hope.

people might laugh at this but TLJ made 700m less than TFA worldwide and Solo tanked at the box office
so yeah I wouldn't be surprised if TROS underperforms

As you say, evertyone's entitled to their own taste and opinion etc but I've always thought that folk who are too vocal about what they expect in art are a bit twittish. Boycotting....which is a colourful word journos use for...not attending..... is fair dos....but airing their disappointment on public platforms and berating other creators for so-called souring their precious movie expectations ....deliniates the fan from the fanatic.
My view.... Which I'm entitled to as well, is that I would rather have some Star Wars , Rocky, Indy, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Star Trek whatever, than none......and if spoon-fed twits bleat about what someone else is providing for them..... Go and fucking do it yourself.
'Ooooh it's not as good as number 2 blah ,,,,,,,they're tainting my religion' is as annoying as ' oooooh why do they have to put adverts in my free YouTube?

Doesn't seeing the first two episodes qualify as giving the sequel trilogy a chance? If you hated TLJ, and hated the way fans were treated by Lucasfilm in response to valid criticism, what option do you have to voice your displeasure other than withholding your money? If not seeing every movie in a franchise means surrendering your "fan card" then I guess lots of Hellboy, X-Men, and MIB fans are no more in 2019.

If you order a steak at a restaurant and get a shit sandwich twice, complain, and the restaurant calls you a sexist and racist on Twitter for complaining, you are an idiot if you go back to that restaurant.

ACTUAL Star Wars fans want Empire Strikes Back quality movies, Disney keeps giving us Attack of the Clones quality movies. Goober fans want an Empire reboot for nostalgia purposes which is stupid Hopefully, those morons will stay far away on the last movie.

Having a movie like Empire Strikes Back has been, in a sense, a curse for the franchise. A curse in that it sets such a high expectation for future Star Wars films that it almost feels like it would be impossible to live up to such high expectations.

Anyone who isn't capable of understanding this is a flat out moron. I will say I think it is a little silly to be actively boycotting the movie rather than just not watching it because you have lost interest. Anybody who calls out someone for the latter needs to be bitch slapped though.

Disney has an endless supply of money, if they gave a damn about Star Wars quality they could hire talented people to make high quality movies. They have no excuse.

He's way past his prime and wasn't hired till Kennedy realized Solo was going to be a disaster if someone didn't clean up the mess the original directors made.

Well, you have a point there, the only Star Wars film I fell asleep during was Attack of the Clones... . Granted I was working 10 or 11 hour days at a chemical plant at the time and was dead tired, but still....
