Now I perfectly realize that everybody is entitled to their own feelings and opinions.
Having said that....
To me, "STAR WARS" Fans boycotting "THE RISE OF SKYWALKER" just because they hated what happened in "THE LAST JEDI" (I know that a Majority of them did enjoy "THE FORCE AWAKENS") is just like being on a ship out in the middle of the ocean and then suddenly abandoning it just because it is raining.
That is just how I myself feel about it.

If I were a bigger Star Wars fan, I would be outraged by how they are ruining the franchise.
But I'm just a casual Star Wars fan.

They're just mad because no one pays any attention to their fan fiction story lines.

Star Wars fans are almost impossible to please these days. These days? They’ve always been a bunch of whiny bitches. Remember what they were saying when the prequels came out? “Luca$ raped my childhood!!!!111” etc. Funny how they love them now all of a sudden...

No one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.

Not sure how that comparison would work. It’s not like they have much to lose if they refuse to see TROS. If they don’t want to watch it, they don’t want to watch it.
The ship scenario would involve a lot more loss.
That said, I’m completely onboard with what you’re saying.

So a target consumer group is dissatisfied with a product based on previous sampling so they won't buy it anymore--and they are to blame? Typical corporate bullshit.
Mark Hamill said that he felt they should be thinking about what the audience wants and expects-and Rian Johnson replied they wanted to do what the audience didn't want/expect. They got the results they intended, and now blame the audience for their failure.
They should sell shoes in Malawi or something more worthy of their talents.

It's a sad feeling when the only reason you go see a new Star Wars film at the big screen is almost out of compulsion because you saw all the rest on the big screen (well outside of IV because I was about 1 year old and Solo because I just really had no interest). I hate feeling that way but The Last Jedi was really that bad....

I think that the more appropriate analogy is that the ship departed Southampton with TFA, struck an iceberg with TLJ and started to sink. And now with TROS passengers are given a choice between staying on the sinking ship or leaving in a lifeboat. Personally, I'm taking the lifeboat.

ACTUAL Star Wars fans want Empire Strikes Back quality movies, Disney keeps giving us Attack of the Clones quality movies.

I Agree Completely but at the same time, Fans have ZERO Right to tell DISNEY what they should and should not do with their "STAR WARS" Movies. True. Bottom line artists should make the content they want. It's then up to the public if they want to see it and as someone said they'll "vote with their wallets" But let's not pretend Disney is an "artist" in the purest sense, they're a business and they want their films to be successful/profitable. Its up to them how much they want to risk alienating older fans for the sake of their "new vision"/newer fan expectations. I don't know how many people still like the new films/how much this "boycott" will cost them as I barely have any interest in the original trilogy.
