I have an open mind about this. I’ll watch the next Spidey films.

Just when I was so excited to see JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson again moving forward...

I haven't read this whole issue but...the next two Spider-Man movies are still going to be part of the MCU but Kevin George won't be producing them is that right?

I see people blaming Sony for this. What’s up with that?
Let’s say the film makes 800m and Sony spend 200m on the film itself and then 100m on the marketing. Theatres take 50% of the earnings and then Disney takes 25% plus merchandise sales (Spider-Man toys apparently made 1.3 billion in 2013 and it’s no doubt gone up since then)
Disney is who should be blamed. They probably made more money from toys than Sony made from the films, and they still wanted more

W T F ?
How could EITHER side let this happen? It's a mutually beneficial symbiosis! I don't know if I would stick around if I were Tom Holland. Being part of the MCU was the whole point of this new franchise. Without that it's just SONY's Spider-Man all over again. They might as well shouldn't have dropped the previous franchise.
Oh well... Spider-Man Venom crossover here we come! You know THAT's going to happen for sure, now...

And just FYI, it looks like it was Disney was the one that backed out of the deal.

Disney wanted more profit to the property that Sony owns. Sony has every right to agree or disagree. Now it seems like Disney outed this to the public to get fan backlash on Sony (Which has worked) to try and help the negotiations. I think they will settle in the 20-25% range. Disney asking for 50% seems like an ask for the moon number to eventually come down from. If Disney doesnt budge then imo fans can have them to blame not Sony. Yet, I feel like most wont see it that way.

I cant link from my phone but yesterday's Collider Movie Talk discussed this pretty well seemingly without bias. When I get to PC I'll link it. However the summary of it was this.
Sony had no reason to accept this 50% proposal.
We are having negotiations taking place in public cuz its Spider-Man.
Both companies benefit from working this out.
Sony should counter offer with 20% and possibly being able to use Holland with Venom.

No one put a gun to their head.

This is taking an interesting turn. This is coming from an accused physical and psychological abuser of her own father - the highly interested and deeply invested J.C. Lee. "Multiple points of view?" Ma'am, that is why most comic book publishers hire more than one writer to create stories for their characters. I wonder how much she got paid by corporate over in the land of the rising fun to preach the good word?

Yes, J.C. Lee is suing Stan Lee's former business manager, Keya Morgan. She is suing him primarily because she believes he stole a fortune from Stan Lee that is rightfully hers. She's not wrong but, don't let that fool you into thinking she's a kind and loving daughter looking after her father's legacy. J.C. Lee has never even held an actual job in her entire life.
