Scotland being destroyed by Japan, 28-7.
Japan already have the 4 tries bonus point, so Scotland need to score 3 more tries and win by more than 7 points to qualify.
Not a chance.

Jesus Scotland wished the game was called off now. 2nd try though. Still have to beat the Japans by 8 points I think

Japan win 28-21 and progress as group winners.
Well done!
I can see them beating SA.

Do Scotland have more turn overs / interception against them than any other team? Always play like they think they're 1980s France trying insane cute little inside passes, chips to nowhere or long throws out wide that never come off! Looks like they could have played some phase stuff on the wings and got somewhere but no. Head-rush stuff all the time.

Never mind Scotland.
At least your football team won't have the worry of getting knocked out of Euro 2020 in the group stage.

Oh bugger. Guess I'll be cheering for England and the Saffers now. I really hope the Wallabies get knocked out in the Quarters. So sick of seeing Rugby Australia defend their inept management of the game every 4 years because they beat France or Scotland by a point in a QF. Last time we even had the good luck to draw Argentina in the semis and there's RA: "See, we made it to the WC Final. All is well." No it fucking isn't and hasn't been for some time and won't be again unless something drastic happens to prevent failure being defended as success.

So that's the end of the group stage then. Quarter-finals match-ups are:
England Australia
New Zealand Ireland
Wales France
Japan South Africa

Nothing against South Africa, but I am with you in hoping that Japan gets that semi-final spot - and if they do, who's to say either Wales or France would be a bridge too far?

Yeah, they have a great chance of making the final. I’m quite surprised by the odds: www.oddschecker.com/rugby-union/rugby-world-cup/winner

The fact that one of the finalists will be one of Wales, France, Japan and South Africa is good for the game. Better still, only one of England, Australia and NZ will make it too.

Doesn’t it make you laugh when Union types in Australia basically shrug and say “New Zealand is too good” and then proceed to sprout shit about the ‘successes’ against every other side, real or not ? Australia was gifted the easiest pool in this WC, couldn’t even top it and went long periods where they couldn’t overpower Fiji nor Georgia. Of all the national teams Australia has, the wallabies are easily the one I care least about, and often hope they lose. They have a shit attitude, and are nowhere as good as they think they are, All Blacks aside. And the truth is, the game is dying in this country. And not slowly either.

They are having a laugh, surely. There is nothing I’ve seen this WC that even closely resembles an Ireland win over New Zealand.
