If you subscribe to Bill Parcells’ adage that you are what your record says you are, then yes. They’ve beaten everyone they’ve played so far and given up the fewest points in the NFC. If it’s not them then who is better? Not the Saints without Brees. Not the Bears with their shitty offense. Not the Packers who couldn’t even beat the Eagles. Not the Vikings with Kirk Cousins. Not the Rams who they just beat. Not the vastly overrated Cowboys who couldn’t beat the Jets. The only team in their league is Seattle, and because they play in the same division, we’ll find out who is better.

Right Now I'm Going:
1. 49ers 2. Seahawks 3. Saints 4. Packers
5. Lions 6. Vikes 7. Bears 8. Cowboys
Panthers, Rams, Eagles

It’s definitely possible that the Niners are the best team and they have the best record, but if I would say the Saints are the best team, they are a bit more talented than the Niners IMO and they are extremely talented on both sides of the ball and it’s very impressive how well they’ve played with a backup QB. I think the Saints have better weapons on offense and a better offensive line than the Niners, and when Brees returns they will be even harder to beat. I also think the Seahawks are at least equal to the Niners, and I can’t wait to see them play twice later in the season. After those 3 I would put the Packers and then probably the Vikings.

Seattle is for me, but yes it's possible. Their 2 games will decide it.

SF are kinda weak when it comes to receivers but it doesn’t matter when Shanahan has a healthy roster with players used to his scheme. He’s excellent at establishing a destructive ground attack. Garoppolo is no Matt Ryan but he’s good enough, especially when he has such an excellent defense to fall back on (something Shanahan never really had in Atlanta). That defense is really becoming a special unit from the trenches out.

It all depends if the Niners can beat NO, Seattle, Carolina and keep beating the other teams in their division. That first drive by the Rams was scary, then the defense kicked in but I fear the Niners start getting complacent against crappy teams like DC next week and lose simply because they're starting to believe their own hype.
So far I think Jimmy G is nothing but another Alex Smith except on a team with a better defense. But we'll see. As a life long niners fan, 5-0 after all this time is amazing. I was predicting an 8-8 season but now I'm thinking 9, possibly 10 wins.

But even we beat you at Lambeau in prime time. That's pretty bad

Yep, it's very possible we could see Pats and 9ers in the Superbowl.

Saints are 4-0 without Brees, including road wins in Seattle and against Minnshew Moustache.
Green Bay also has impressive wins against Chicago, Minnesota, and at Dallas.
Niners have been real good, but I still don't put them at #1 just yet.

I'd root for a football team from North Korea over the 49ers ANY day!

Yes it is possible. They look very strong. But except for the Rams, they haven't played anybody.
We won't know until they play the Seahawks, the Packers and the Saints. I would say the Ravens also. But Baltimore hasn't looked so good.

They play DC next week. I'm totally afraid they're going to start believing their own hype and go in there thinking it's an easy win, when the skins with only one crappy win now need to prove somethign. That could easily end up being the Niners first loss. They've got some super tough games coming up including GB, 2 with Seattle, NO, Carolina and the Ravens. I think we're going to win at least 3 the rest of the season, probably 4 but I'm not going to assume anything. Do I want them to win them all? Of course, but I'm a realist. I still say Jimmy G is basically another Alex Smith, who was below average except for the one year he had a great QB coach. Jimmy wants to throw the ball every time whether there's a play to be made or not. He's still learning, I think his 13-2 start as a starter might be a little overrated with his skill level at this point.
