Jerry Jones watching the Eagles beat the Giants As much as I hate watching the Giants lose to the Eagles as always, I really enjoy Jerry Jones be sad.

As we dawn on a new year, it's important to remember that the Philadelphia Eagles were the clearly superior team this year, their victory inevitable. It was foolish of me to think the cowboys had a chance.

It was foolish of me to think the cowboys had a chance. How can I put this. Don't mean to be a squeeky wheel. Beggars can't be choosers. But how about a little more creativity. Dance Monkey! Dance!

hehateshe is doubtless running out of nice things to say about the Eagles. He did better than me; I'd have struggled after 2 days. Still, at least he only has... when's the game, Sunday?... 4 more compliments to give.

The above is pretty much what I wanted. We handle Seattle and the Niners wet the bed in their first playoff appearance with Jimmy G against us. Then we're onto the NFC Championship Game. I wanted no part of Rodgers or Brees in Round 2 but you're going to have to face one of them to get to the Super Bowl (sorry Kirk Cousins). Now I argued previously - I wanted no part of Russell Wilson either; however being they already came in here and beat us around 6 weeks or so ago - it's a daunting task to pull off twice - I'll be shocked if they pull it off 2 times in less than 2 months. At the very least - we're making it to the NFC Championship Game.

Just to piggyback on the above -
I'm actually loving our chances in the NFC Championship Game vs. the Saints - it's a 'revenge' game for us as they knocked us out of the playoffs last year.
Then it's onto the Super Bowl. Pats rematch is intriguing but I'd really love to see Pederson vs. Andy Reid.
Also Baltimore vs. Philly in an East Coast regional matchup is kind of intriguing as well.
I'll be rather upset if we have to face a dud boring vanilla no personality team in the Super Bowl like the Bills, Titans or Texans though - would remind me of when the Phils beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the World Series - I mean it's nice and all - but it wasn't the Yanks or Red Sox and nobody would really care but us.

Creativity... creativity... Nope, got nothing. But what I do have is something you might like. Torture. I tortured myself watching 25 minutes and 30 seconds of this: youtu.be/kqbRYoU9TPMBut unfortunately for you, I didn't hate every second of it. There was a point where Blount was talking about Foles' baby-doll soft ball handoffs, and some coach was all like "did you tell him? You told him right? Go tell him! Blount kinda looked like a cartoon character processing the command. That's great f--king coaching! You know who that guy is?

These here Philadelphia Eagles have battled all year. I hope they bring back the underdog masks. Carson Wentz was one bad decision away from being an MVP. Instead he had to watch Nick Foles lead his team into the playoffs 2 years in a row. He'll get his first taste of playoff football in less than 72 hours. He's good enough to win the game on his own. Like Brady, Wentz will have to. Receivers banged up, Ertz still not cleared to practice, pro bowl OL out, pro bowl DL not practicing.
It's a mess.
But Wentz is good enough to get it done.

Is this a contest at all? Even if the Eagles hadn't this long list of injured players: they barely made it to the play offs in the NFC L(East). If the Seahawkes can display their regular game play, it will be no contest. Period.
Eagles: in one out of ten maybe.

If the Seahawkes can display their regular game play, it will be no contest. Period. Eagles: in one out of ten maybe. Absolutely - the spread has been fluctuating depending on what book you're looking at. Right now looks like the line is -1.5 Seahawks. Pretty much means the Hawks are considered 4.5 favorites on a neutral field. Our defense plays light years better at home than on the road. Last game between the two - if memory serves was 17-9 about 6 weeks ago - i.e. it was a struggle. Seahawks don't blow teams out - think their largest win of the season was 17 which came all the way back in September against the Cards. Also was listening to some sportscasters yesterday state the Hawks have a hard time defending TE's and defending against the screen pass. Have heard conflicting reports on Miles Sanders and Zack Ertz - but Boston Scott has been thriving on screens thus far and Dallas Goedert has stepped up nicely over the past few weeks. It'll be an ugly dogfight that comes down to the 4th quarter again. Eagles 24 Hawks 20 Give or take a point or so folks

There is absolutely no bad blood for the Eagles in my regard, but I just don't see it happen. But anyway: good luck! There is no doubt that you have a fighting spirit.

Next week's (potential) Better Know an Eagle:
Tuesday: All Pro C Jason Kelce
Thursday: Pro bowl TE Zack Ertz
So many good players on this Eagles team. How 9-7 happened is a mystery. How they lost to the Dolphins, the Lions, and the Falcons is a mystery.
Though they lost by 13 points total in those 3 games. They have signature wins at Buffalo and at Green Bay. If this was the NCAAs they'd probably be the 11 seed, and Seattle the 6.
But the game is to be played in Philadelphia.
And stranger upsets than an 11 > 6 have happened.
If Zach Ertz can play. If Lane Johnson can play. They've got a puncher's chance. I'm not picking them. But I'm not putting money on it.

Spread just hopped up to 3. This is just disrespectful folks. When the Cowboys win, you have to bump this thread every day until the Cowboys are eliminated from the playoffs, and you have to say legitimately nice things about the Cowboys, current cowboys' players, and their fans. Should a miracle happen and the Eagles win, I will do that for the Eagles. Do we have an accord?
