Pho is Vietnamese. But the real question is why are you hanging out in gay bars looking for guys you met on a message board? It is Vietnamese, bozo correctly said so. My wife and I travel a lot, and I travel a decent amount for work to conferences. I'll always reach out to posters if they live in the city to see if they're interested in meeting up. Some have accepted, others have openly rejected, and others have just ignored the request. I think I've met about a half a dozen people from this board and its predecessor over the years, most of whom are no longer around. Biggest regret is never having met up with Triple Double, who lives upstate. Twice when we were traveling up that way relatively close to where he was, I reached out to see if he wanted to meet up for a beer and both times he happened to be traveling. That dude is the best, I hope I do get to meet him in person someday. Did you ever meet up with Sule? As I recall that guy was often trying to organize gatherings with board members.

Negative but I would have liked to. Sure and I got off to a rocky start, admittedly being somewhat due to the fact that he was one of the first people I interacted with in a chat room, but we eventually found common ground and became friendly enough. He even gave me some stuff of his to read. Some of it was actually pretty good and well researched.

You told me the story of meeting DC/AH before, which was sort of crazy but sounded completely true and was confirmed the more he tried to deny it. His character he's created got more outlandish from explaining why it was impossible that you'd met him. Not sure I remember or am familiar with some of the other names you've mentioned, but either way you're more adventurous with these fuckers than me. Hats off. Maybe I'll see you at Seinfeld trivia in the city some time.

The odds are pretty slim that they're murderers or some other type of tortfeasor but generally, at the end of the day, we're all just people carrying on with our lives who have enough common ground by way of what we talk about on this board to carry a convo. There isn't much that can't be enjoyable over a pint or two. For the most part, all encounters I've had have been with people that I've seen on the boards for years and we enjoyed the hour or so we spent drinking. Plus, my wife was there too (for all but one), so she acts as a good mediator.

There's a slim chance that some of the people on here might not be murderers, but there's a good chance they're tortfeasors, and I would have been quite sure that a dedicated and deliberate troll would at least be an unpleasant person to sit down with and share a drink... but I certainly can't deny that I would be pretty fucking curious. Next time I go to a game with my friends who are Mets fans I'll assume you're in the building.

It was a gay bar at the time you falsely claimed to have met me there. It may have changed but I wouldn't know because I don't go downtown much. The traffic downtown is too congested with all the 1-way streets and road work around Union Square. And with all the truck loading zones, it's too hard to find parking downtown. There are a few disable parking spaces, but those always seem to be taken. No it wasn't. Stop it. It was a gay bar at the time you falsely claimed to have met me there.

It would be cool to have some beers and some fine California smoke. We can take a tour of the bars of Santa Cruz, even the gay ones. Sometimes those are the most fun to hang out at.

HELL YEAH duder, I'll definitely do that. I love the Bay Area so hopefully I'll be back there within the next few years. Such a terrific place. Listen, if the drinks and music are good, I don't really care who else at the bar. Let them all be gay dudes for all I care (although a little female eye candy isn't so bad either). I'm 40 and married, the days of me chasing townie pussy are long gone.

His poor ass would probably insist on meeting somewhere on Queens Boulevard and he'd drink Bud Light or something equally awful.
