How would you feel? Angry? Sad? Embarrassed? Proud? Other? Quite honestly I'd be a little proud - my main goal is to be entertained - and winning entertains me. Gotta be craftier than the next guy and always thinking one step ahead - that's a life lesson folks - you're welcome

Sad... I want standards from my team, win lose or draw, do so with dignity. Even if they're the laughing stock of the league for years and about to move the team to another city because there's no fan support because they suck?

Well, my Red Sox are right in the middle of this crap, so I'm qualified to give an answer.
I'm pissed, personally.
Listen, I know that the 2004 Red Sox had juicers, but so did every team they played in that postseason. I'm not naive, but I'm not dumb enough to think the Sox were the only team with juicers on it.
This is a whole different ballgame. I HATE Alex Cora for what he did to my favorite team's reputation. I hope to never see that scumbag in baseball ever again. Good luck to him if he ever visits Fenway if he returns to the game.

It's the term "cheating" that cracks me up. Makes it sound like its a game of tag in the backyard. "Mommy, I tagged Sally but when won't be "it". Most owners, Presidents, GM's would let their grandmothers be raped by a pack of Hells Angels if they thought it would bring a title. You don't get into sprots because of money. They have that. They want the adulation.

Or is this a whole new level of hate up there because Bill made a human error and this guy tarnished the logo? Let's say 8 years from now you have your teams 10th Anniversary WS Celebration at Fenway - is he invited?

His knees were shot but John McNamara wanted him to be on the field for the celebration. The bullpen fucked that game up.

Just like PED use. I don't care one way or the other.

A bad error, but an honest error. Alex Cora is a flat out cheating fraud. Btw, I forgave Bill Buckner about 5 minutes after the play happened. Now guys like Calvin Schiraldi, Bob Stanley? That's took a little longer. Real Red Sox fans know the truth.

You're a Phils fan correct? I hate to admit this - I've always had a suspicion Ryan Howard had used. I've never seen a 5 year span or so where a player was so off the charts - think he hit 58 homers one year - high RBI total - one of those years I think his BA was well over .300 I get the injuries caught up with him, the shift, - but I've never seen a player fall off the face of the earth like that when he had such an elite 5 or so year span. He was named in the same report that had Peyton Manning in it - but nothing ever became of it. But like you - I'm indifferent to the PED use - the McGwire / Sosa extravaganza was topnotch entertainment for me - I was glued to the TV.

Depends on what the "cheating" is. For instance Collingwood's first premiership team supposedly cheated by paying their players match fees. Within a couple of seasons it was common practice at all clubs. Being the first to do something that everyone should have been doing to start with is not cheating, it's trailblazing.
Ball tampering in cricket is a 1 or 2 game ban. If you're captain is grinning like a dickhead, lying about the nature of the tampering then by all means stand him down from leadership for a prolonged period, but calling him / her a cheater and banning them for 12 months is absolutely ridiculous.
Things I do think are cheating, 1. Systemic doping (Hello Lance Armstrong, Essendon and Cronulla) I would be disgusted by regardless of who did it.
2. Systemic rorting of the salary cap- (hello Melbourne Storm, Carlton and again Cronulla) again disgusts me. I'm not talking about going a little over for a couple if years, I'm talking about multiple years cooking your books or spending double the allowed amount.
3. Any other systemic rule breaking that creates a consistent illegal advantage. Again, it's wrong regardless of who does it.

But getting caught kind of kills things. You were entertained at the time, but if you have people getting fired, draft picks taken away, reputations crushed, HOF chances of your guys taken down, that can't be fun.

I'd pretty much take the attitude of the 'Stros President - it doesn't taint our title - it's pretty much just giving the finger to the rest of the sports world - bunch of poor sports and sore losers

Angry. I wouldn’t want to have to defend cheating on a fan to fan level constantly. That would get old very fast.

The hell with those ingrates. I think he should wear his yellow jerseys in public while food shopping.
