Took my brother to hospital to get his broken arm fix during the Christmas period and the last visit was a month or so afterwards to get the cast removed.

About six months ago. I was visiting my brother who had been hospitalised by a heart attack.

How did he break his arm? I’m looking after him. He got angry, hit a lamppost and we didn’t realise he’d hit it that hard. The run up to Christmas the year before that was taken up with my mother dying so that involved the hospital and then a hospice. I really don’t like Christmas.

Stammerhead Sorry to hear that. The last time was when my mom went to emergency. I can't remember why but, thankfully, it wasn't serious

HUGS The holidays are difficult for me after losing my parents. I can only imagine if they had died at that time. Sorry

In 2015. Dumbass doctor botched my dads kidney stone removal operation and sliced his lung. No joke.

When ever you need blood drawn at the doctor's office you need to go to the hospital lab here. It's not that big of a deal since the hospital buts right up against the clinic. That was in June. All the tests were fine.

I can't remember why but, thankfully, it wasn't serious My mum’s body had been deteriorating for some time due to heart failure and other conditions. Then she fell over and broke her leg on the day before her 94th birthday and then things went really downhill.

This past February, Catman had to visit the emergency room for a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. Turns out he needed an adjustment to his blood pressure medications and stop taking NSAIDs for routine pain relief. Got some really nifty nose clips out of the ordeal.
And until they closed things down for COVID-19, Catman used to walk through the hospital at least once a week to reach the pharmacy he uses.

My mum used to get spectacular nosebleeds due to her medication and we often ended up at the hospital. One time when I was cleaning up the blood in the bathroom it felt as if Norman Bates had paid her a visit.

Two years ago. I was on a step stool outside installing a new screen in the old French door. Had an awl in my hand tucking in the corner when it slipped out, went up, then down right into my right shin. Stood there looking at it sticking out of my shin. It had hit the bone. Had to go to emergency room to treat a puncture wound X-rays, bruised the shin bone, had yet another tetanus shot, given pain meds and antibiotics. It hurt like anything. Dumb freak accident. My husband and daughter yelled at me for doing that type of repair by myself.

Didn’t this produce jokes about you stepping on an owl when you mentioned it at the time or are my memory cells trolling me?

I was just in for three days in July. Had diverticulitis, which on its own could have been treated with antibiotics but I also had an abscess that needed to be drained. Spent about four hours in the ER waiting room before they could see me (it was that packed), then another two before I was able to get upstairs to a room. Had the surgery the next day, spent another day in to recover, and went home. Feeling good now, getting a follow-up CT on Wednesday to make sure everything is looking good, then a colonoscopy next month so they can see if this might be something that could recur.

Was glad to get back into a room so I could get a painkiller going though. Thanks for your well wishes.
