Xolo Maridueña, who will bring Jamie Reyes, a.k.a. Blue Beetle to life in his own film, was asked about Warner Bros. Discovery choosing to cancel the Batgirl movie. Like a lot of previous reactions, Maridueña wasn't thrilled about Grace's DC picture getting scrapped, as he shared the following: "...It obviously feels very close, right? Warner Brothers and Beetle. But I think everything that has to be said on the topic has been spoken from [those involved]. I think the creators and Leslie said everything that had to be said." screenrant.com/batgirl-movie-cancelation-blue-beetle-actor-mardiuena-response/

In a new interview with THR, Xolo Maridueña recalls how he was cast in Blue Beetle as main character Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle without having to audition – and how nervous he was showing up for the meeting with Warner Bros./DC Films president Walter Hama. As it turns out Xolo didn't have to be nervous – DC/WB was recruiting him for big things in the franchise. According to Maridueña, Hamada let him now that, "This role of Blue Beetle is going to be really important to this universe. We want to just make sure that whoever we go with is a real person and we're not just hiring a face. It's about more than what's in front of the camera." comicbook.com/dc/news/blue-beetle-movie-really-important-dc-films-universe-dceu/

From Susan Sarandon:
"What's fabulous about it [is that] it's the first Latinx hero that has his own movie. Even better, all of the Mexican - because his family is Mexican and all of the actors were Mexican or Mexican-American, and it's in Spanish, so it's subtitled," she reveals. "I'm, of course, the bad guy!"
"I'm the white military-industrial complex [character] so I had a fabulous time," Sarandon added. "Because there's nothing better than being bad!"

She couldn't just say "military-industrial complex"? She had to make it racist. Also, many Latinos hate it when liberals redefine them and tell them what they have to call themselves (Latinx). Is she trying to kill this movie?

During a recent interview with NPR, Blue Beetle director Angel Manuel Soto opened up on how he responded to the Batgirl news. "I'm not going to lie. There was concern, anger, fear at first," he admits. "They told me not to worry, the film has their full support."

To quote Charlie Brown: "AAUGH!!!!!!" . I'd be surprised if it remains like that. Remember Thor 4 had a 4 hour cut.

In a post to his Instagram, the Guardians of the Galaxy director and recently appointed DC Studios co-CEO shared Blue Beetle’s glossy new film poster as well as some love for one of its most famous cast members, George Lopez. The Mexican-American comedian and actor, who plays Rudy, the uncle of the movie’s title character, responded to Gunn’s post with appreciation. "Welcome aboard The BUGSHIP Captain," he wrote, in what some perceive as a reference to the titular hero's vehicle. Intriguingly, Gunn, in his response, praised his performance in advance, stating, "Wait till people see how good you are in this, George."

It's said that Jaime's Scarab will have a voice that we hear, with the hero arguing with it throughout the movie.

Plot synopsis?
"...Recent college grad Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle."

That’s a nice looking poster. Really? The purple pink looks out of place and tacky. Looks more like a Harley Quinn crossover.

An early screening was shown to the YouTube content creator and reviewer, Mr. H, who has now sent in constructive feedback and managed to portray Blue Beetle in a positive light — which happens to be very good news for the DC fans. If the superhero film actually manifests the success that its early screening promises, it will be a major win for the franchise after an unnecessarily long and dry spell. The YouTuber, Mr. H has claimed that the movie’s “late ’90s” aesthetic targets an audience who “will find [the film] endearing.” Aside from its visual representation, the film is said to be “entertaining” and “kid-friendly” which not only sets Blue Beetle open to a PG-13 reception but also makes it a film for accompanying adults who can expect themselves to be “moderately amused.”
