It’s so difficult to keep track of how many DC projects are supposed to be in development at this point.

It’s so difficult to keep track of how many DC projects are supposed to be in development at this point. Tell me about it. Remember Booster Gold, Blackhawk, Gotham City Sirens, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Lobo?

That's the 4th non DC creation heading for the screen under their banner (along with V for Vendetta, Shazam, at one point, Blackhawk). I'm actually struggling to think what decent DC creations are left to make it to the big/small screen. I'm sure there must be loads that aren't springing to mind. So many have popped up on the TV over the last decade or so.

DC embargoed Blue Beetle and screwed Arrow up (not the first time) because they claimed they were making a Blue Beetle movie. Now, all this time later it's finally getting made. And of course they aren't even using Ted Kord, the character they embargoed in the first place, they're kissing SJW ass by making it the Jaime Reyes version.

It's not a high priority for me as far as these DCEU projects go, but perhaps if they did this kind of how Miles Morales was handled in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse minus the dimension jumping stuff it could be interesting.

Reading the comics as a kid, Ted Kord was my Blue Beetle BUT with the success of the character on TV, it would be a mistake not to use Reyes — just my two cents. The only issue with that I can see is you lose out on a Booster/Beetle show

Was the Blue Beetle also on The Electric Company?
The original Electric Company, from the 1970s, you know, with Spider-Man and future Batman sidekick Morgan Freeman.

There was character called The Blue Beetle on that show. However, I don't know enough about the character to say if it was the same character as DC has or not.

I just got this from the Wikipedia entry on Blue Beetle: "On the PBS children's educational series The Electric Company, the Blue Beetle was a bumbling superhero (played by Jim Boyd) who would often make matters worse instead of better. He wore a mask, a hood with antennae, wings, tennis shoes, boxer shorts, and a T-shirt bearing the name "Blue Beetle". Outside of the name, the character is unrelated to any of the comic book characters." kordindustries.blogspot.com/2013/03/never-fear-blue-beetle-is-here.html

They got a suit made apparently.
"We've done two suit fittings. They're hoping that I get more buff by the time we actually start filming. But I've seen the suit, and it looks awesome."

The Wrap followed up this report to reveal that Bruna Marquezine and Belissa Escobedo have joined Blue Beetle's cast too. Marquezine will play Penny, the female lead and Jaime's love interest, while Escobedo will play Jaime's younger sister Milagros. screenrant.com/blue-beetle-movie-cast-harvey-guillen-dc/
