If I was giving a serious answer it would probably be the first one or New Nightmare. But Dream Master is probably my favourite because of how cheesy it was. I liked the direction the series was going in but they killed it with Freddy's dead. They should have used the Dream Police script.
The less said about the remake the better imo.

Freddy's Revenge has always been my favorite. Not counting Freddy vs. Jason.

Can't beat the 1984 original IMO.

Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
But some of the sequels are actually good unlike, say, the Halloween franchise.

The original in my opinion. I enjoyed the 2010 film more than most too.

Freddy's Revenge So funny and yet still when I saw it as a kid it scared the crap out of me. That screaming though by the lead actor, but it had great special effects, the beautiful Kim Myers and so many cheezy/funny scenes that I could go on forever. Plus the ending was one of the best in the series.

While I do like the original quite a bit, Dream Warriors is my favorite. It's one of the few horror films I saw in the theater.

I know the first movie is technically the best and probably the scariest, but I always found Dream Warriors the most enjoyable.

No Dream Child fans here then? That one had some- unusual- dreams in. I saw it uncut recently and was taken back.
