Daredevil is an A-Lister. He deserves a movie. Innit?

I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I hope there can be some confirmation that the Netflix show isn’t canon.

Daredevil is an A-Lister. He deserves a movie. Innit? He should get a movie but I guess Marvel doesn't have much faith in the character. Which sucks because I'd love to see another street level superhero film that isn't Batman or Spider-Man.

I thought Netflix "Daredevil" was the single best series ever made for a super hero show and there's a fair number of people who agree or think it close.

Because if we decide that the Netflix Daredevil show is canon, we might as well assume that all the Jeph Loeb Marvel shows are canon. It just makes the whole thing unnecessarily convoluted. I don't think the one requires the other, but even if it did, so what? I'm not well versed enough to know offhand just which shows are done by which producers so I had to look up which ones he was associated with. The site I found, MCU-fandom, listed these:
I saw at least some of all of those except "Helstrom," and I don't have a problem with any of them becoming canon in the slightest. I'm not saying they were all good, or that I can't understand why some might think them utterly awful, but merely that their existence doesn't demean the rest of the MCU. Some of the comics which made up the 'canon' Marvel Universe were godawful or outright contradicted each other, but that Marvel Universe survived and eventually gave birth to the MCU, the most popular movie series in Hollywood history.
I think all the Netflix series--especially--added a great deal to the shared universe concept in how they interconnected with each other, including minor characters like Turk Barrett (I loved Rob Morgan's performance especially) and Claire Temple as well as Jeri Hogarth and Foggy showing up in other shows. I didn't ever finish "Runaways" (didn't dislike it I just forgot about it until I couldn't remember enough to continue without starting over) nor "Cloak-n-Dagger" (that one actively offended me--a tough thing to do--and I dropped it in the second season) but I did enjoy the first season enough to look forward to the second. Perhaps something happened at the end of those shows that couldn't be integrated into the rest of the MCU, but as I recall neither took place in NYC and just expanded the shared universe to California and...where was C&D set again?...Ohio somewhere?

Oooh boy. This is making me nervous. On one hand I'm excited that DD is getting another crack, on the other hand I saw what they did to Kingpin in Hawkeye and... shit.

I want to be excited because it's Daredevil...but then I remember most of the other Disney+ shows have sucked. And the credentials of the guys writing it don't make me feel any better.

Oooh boy. This is making me nervous. On one hand I'm excited that DD is getting another crack, on the other hand I saw what they did to Kingpin in Hawkeye and... shit. I found the Kingpin's appearance in "Hawkeye" to be rather cartoonish, just like the 'Track Suit Mafia' who I found occasionally funny but overall detrimental to the seriousness of the show, but I guess I was just glad to see Vincent D back in the role and as I hadn't been following any CBM boards it was a complete surprise. I thought "Hawkeye" was just good fun and as such forgive it a few trespasses as one of the reasons I do watch these shows is to be entertained.
That being said, during my regular MCU re-watch in anticipation of "Dr. Strange 2" I was struck by how much more I enjoyed the tone and humor of the older MCU offerings, especially from the Iron Man movies and the first two Avengers films. It seemed to me the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies caused a shift of sorts regarding the tone of these movies. I think James Gunn, while directing some very hilarious and occasionally dramatic scenes, to be 'too much' and he has quite a following so I can't really see why something like "Hawkeye" should be dismissed out of hand.
However I'd like a more Frank Miller-ish depiction of Kingpin in the new Daredevil and don't think it impossible the powers that be at Disney/Marvel can see that would be better as well.

Punisher might appear in it;originally it was rumored to be Jessica Jones.

By the sounds of things, this show may actually be a complete reboot for the character. Which is understandable considering Feige beef with Leob.
I'm just happy that Charlie and Vincent are back playing their characters.

Maslany in fact is openly lobbying to appear in the Daredevil reboot, as she revealed in an interview with THR. See her remarks in the space below: I keep texting [Charlie Cox] being like, “Am I required for set today?” And he says, “We’ll let you know by lunch.” But he just keeps putting it off. I’ve been waiting outside the set in my She-Hulk costume, so just put me in, coach. screenrant.com/daredevil-born-again-she-hulk-tatiana-maslany-response/
