Hey, that’s in my playlist!! The Pet Shop Boys are far from my favorite band. Just one of those odd songs that caught my fancy.
I do like They Might Be Giants a lot more

Screw it, I like it and not ashamed to admit it. That's actually a very good song. Very musical. I think the "hate" started with some rich dweeb who got a list on TV, claiming it was the worst song ever, but he didn't make any sense. If a song is "crappy", I don't like it, so the best I can do is name some songs that are simple and silly, but are still easy listening and very musical. I can easily listen to these. Some have very poor messages (like Spider Web and I Wear My Sunglasses), and the third actually insults the audience when Blues Travellers writes their very worst lyrics for their very best music. Also, Hurricane is really bad misinformation. Legal minds agree the man was guilty, but no one wants to believe a star athlete is cruel. Some mindless ditties that have good music, and aren't bad, just kind of mindless, like Silly Love Songs, I'm Alright, Electric Love, Somebody's Knockin' at the Door, most songs by the Gogos. Then, there is the entire soundtrack that Paul and Art wrote for one of the worst movies ever made, in which the songs had absolutely nothing to do with the scenes in the movie, but while the movie was a 1/10 dung heap, the songs were classic. One song, for instance, made you think a woman was a baseball fan, but in the movie she was nothing of the sort.

The question makes no sense.
If i like a song, than i don`t think it crap
If other people think a song i like is crap, well frankly i don`t care,

Why didn't the bunny just smack that fairy during her long spiel?

My cousin download a mix tape of all punk songs, they were great and then this started playing: I could see that, honestly. The Cardigans were indie pop rockers but they had some punk scene crossover. Punks and the indie scene tend to run in similar circles and appreciate the unorthodox and unique. Even your most hardened punk rocker likes a few bright and silly songs. They'd put cheesy pop songs and pop covers of other songs (such as-- I shit you not-- Sabbath Bloody Sabbath) on their albums for some dripping 90s-era irony and Lovefool isn't that representative of their work. I'd say this is more what one of their typical songs sounds like:

Remember when this song would come on the radio? Everyone would stop whatever they were doing to do the dance.

My brother and I were always divided on the soundtrack, that was his favorite song, mine was Dare. Of course Instruments of Destruction beats them both by a mile.
