More of a passion for film story telling than he does for gaming story telling?! You've played these games and can say that? There is sooooooooooooooooo much more depth and emotion in the game. It's better written and acted. It's not even close. B-grade actors in motion cap did a better job than those in this show.
The story, as well as Joe and Ellie, was the only thing remotely good about those games. Everything else about that game was mediocre at best. Especially for a zombie game, which was an already oversaturated market. So yeah I think Last of Us plot is more suited for a tv show or movie rather than a video game. B ut I know that Naughtydog is the sacred child of the internet and thus any critism about their games is frowned upon.I said the game was better than the show, but go off with your Strawman.

kuatorises @forceghostackbar I thought Ellie was fine from memory in the second game. One could definitely understand where she was coming from, unless I missed something?

How’s the second game? I haven’t gotten around to playing it. I largely liked it apart from the forced politics. The trans kid story was surprisingly organic and pretty cool imo Wait- trans kid? Is there a twist coming up? Is it Abby?!

Ep 7, I thought was a little sweet but a little slow. Which is a bit jarring since the last episode or two I felt like things were moving a bit too fast. I enjoyed Elle and Riley’s relationship but would’ve liked to have seen the scene when Riley turns. They could’ve shaved several sections of the mall down to make room for it and I think it would’ve left more of an emotional imprint on the episode. Maybe they thought it would’ve been too similar to the episode with Henry and Sam, I don’t know.
A few random thoughts…
Elle’s character of choice is Raiden? Pfft. Noob!
I know it’s been 20 years but the back of that taco restaurant definitely still smells like shit! Worst place to lay your head.
There was a lot of great opportunity to do a cool background shot showing the clicker (or whatever) approaching while the two girls galavanted around the mall. Kind of shame they didn’t make use of all the glass backdrops or the spinning carousel to build suspense more by showing us something approaching. But that’s something I think about a lot in horror and suspense movies.

Did they adapt the DLC for an episode? I really enjoyed playing that. Good DLC.

Oh c'mon like that is so natural to bring into a story, especially with what's happening now in the world. I even said I liked it. Take the win

Yeah but that came from her anger with Joel betraying her choice to willingly sacrifice herself for the good of mankind

I mean yes, we get it..there are lgbt in the world Stop hitting us over the head with this agenda. 2 entire episodes now..other things couldve been explored but no..

Honestly as someone who has played both games, I feel like they're better off as a series then they are as a game. From a gameplay perspective, they're not very interesting games. Mediocre at best really. The only thing that made it worth playing through was the characters. Especially Part 2, which in my opinion has the worst pacing out of the two games. As for the recent episode, it was a decent retelling of the DLC story. Solid performances from Bella and the actress that played Riley. The second game is really starting to drag. I’m getting tired of the Abby sections.

If Riley was a teenage boy I’d have been just as bored.

It's not like gender dysphoria would suddenly dissappear in a post apocalyptic world.

It feels like they dragged out as much as they can so they can give the game a longer competition time. I can't see myself ever replaying that game.

She cut Joel out of her life and treat him like shit on the rare occasion they interacted:
Yeah but that came from her anger with Joel betraying her choice to willingly sacrifice herself for the good of mankind What choice? The Fireflies never gave her one. She was unconscious when they found her and Joel. They never asked her if they could kill her, they were going to just do it. Guy risks his life (numerous times) to get her there and the second he comes in contact with them, they assault him and don't let him see Ellie. He's just supposed to sit there and accept that.

It's well-made, just not a story you want to see. And being forced to play as Abby? Fuck off with that. You can't give me half a game with Joel?
