After watching the final episode, i give this series a 7/10. Biggest flaw to me is that it rushes through a lot of stuff and because of that i don't think the relationship between Joel and Ellie was as organic was it was in the game. This shouldn't have been 9 episodes in my opinion.
Apparently they're going to split the second game up for season two, so we'll see how that goes.
I seriously hope that who ever gets cast as Abby doesn't go through the same stupid bullshit that Laura Bailey went through after the game's release. Seriously there's a lot of fucking psycho's out there and the stuff said about her baby was fucked up.
Speaking of Laura Bailey, apparently she had a cameo this episode as a nurse.

I might go up to an 8, because I really enjoyed some of it. But I agree about the pacing. Especially down the back stretch, I didn't think we had enough time to digest the moments as they were happening before we were thrust into the next bad scenario. The revolving door of side characters and antagonists meant that the only characters we really got to know are Joel and Ellie. I really did enjoy the Joel and Ellie dynamic. Its a classic Lone Wolf and Cub dynamic thats been done a million times and never really gets old so long as you make it fun. I just kind of wish they built a story around them other than 'Walk here, fight bad people, rinse, repeat'. The cordyceps also kind of vanished as the episodes went on. I don't think we've really seen them as a threat since episode 5. Its easy to think of the things they couldve done better tho but I have to say I am here for season 2. Or as long as they have Joel and Ellie in the show. If one of them is gone then I will reevaluate.

I haven't watched the episode yet but I an curious to see how the people who never played the games feel about Joel's actions. To this day I see fans of the game debate that ending. There's a short story by Ursula K. Le Guin called The Ones who Walk Away from Omelas. It's about a utopian society that is only a utopia because there's a child suffering somewhere. I look at it that way. A utopia is not worth it if there's a child suffering for everyone's happiness. The cure isn't worth killing a child. Find another way.
