Yeah, it's not like Mystique saving him from drowning would stop him from going into the military and meeting Stryker. I get what Brownstones is saying though. The implication at the end of DoFP is that Logan WON'T go through Weapon X again. That was the point of leading us to believe that Stryker got his hands on him, only to reveal that it's actually Mystique just rescuing him. But in Apocalypse, we see that he ended up going through Weapon X anyway (though it's suggested that the reason for him going through it was slightly different). I'm ultimately okay with this because DoFP did suggest that time keeps flowing in the same general direction. That's the reason why the future that Logan woke up in at the end of DoFP wasn't COMPLETELY new. It was still loaded with recognizable elements. So Logan eventually getting his adamantium skeleton could just be one of those things that was destined to happen. I'm just wishing that they would have gone about it a different way. Instead of going through Weapon X, he should have been given the adamantium by Apocalypse. Why would a godlike being capable of simply giving the strongest material on earth to someone not simply give it to all of his horsemen or… himself?

Her saving him from drowning might not, but considering he has the memories of future Wolverine, who already went through the Weapon X program, you'd think he'd avoid it. His consciousness left his past body. At the end of the film Logan says that the last thing he remembers is "drowning".

That's a good question. Apocalypse in the comics had given Wolverine his adamantium back after Magneto ripped it out but for some reason never used it himself. In addition to not trying to take over the world thousands of years.

Did you not see Apocalypse? He "enhances" his followers with additional features/abilities. I'm basically saying that Wolverine should have been a Horseman (like he was in the comics).

Yeah, the Logan that Mystique fished up didn't have the future Wolverine's memories. That's why Xavier has an "Oh Snap!" look on his face and says "Welcome back" or something.

It's been a little while since I saw it.

I did not see it, but it doesn't really change my argument. If Apocalypse was the one that gave him the adamantium him skeleton, iit would seem foolish that he didn't equip everyone (including himself) with an indestructible metal.

There is one problem with Logan being at Weapon X: Xavier looked into Logan's mind and saw his memories. So he should have known about Weapon X and stop it. Him knowing the future is the reason why he doesn't put psychic blocks in Jean's mind.

I can think of X1-X3 as its own trilogy. I can think of the FC trilogy as a separate trilogy that only loosely connects to the original trilogy. I can think of Deadpool as its own thing. I can think of Logan as its own thing. Same here. I don't sweat it that much. Some people take it way too serious. Especially when they're all, "It's the 80's now, Magneto and Xavier should look like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen." I just made peace with the fact the roles were re-cast. It's not a big deal. It's not like the X-Men comics were all that great with continuity to begin with.

It's not like the X-Men comics were all that great with continuity to begin with. why do people say this? This is not a valid excuse. Thousands of comics versus 1-7 movies. There is no comparison.

Thousands of comics? The X-Books in All-New All Different Marvel are contradicting each other right now.

Because its perfectly valid. Once the comics introduced time travel, they started messing with their own continuity. So did the movies.

But the changes in the movies happen despite time travel, not because of it. The ages of characters in Apocalypse is not because of time travel. Things being very different in First Class is not because of time travel. Characters with kids in the OT being dead before those kids can be born is not because of time travel.

You misunderstand. I'm not saying time travel was the cause of continuity problems in the comics. Just that once it was introduced, continuity didn't really matter much any more any way. A lot of those retcons also happened despite time travel. Heck, the X-Men started in the 60's, yet barely aged by 90's. Magneto's been a 40 year old Holocaust survivor for over 30 years.
Things are different in First Class because characters were recast and it was a bit of a reboot. That's fine. I can accept that. It's really no big deal.

Like I said before they have explanations for things like that. Magneto was de-aged to a baby by Moira MacTaggert so she could get rid of his past that made him evil. He was then age up younger than he was before. He turned evil again when he learned what they did to him. Also, comics have what is called a sliding timescale. That's why there have been like 45 years worth of yearly Christmas issues when in the comics world X-men have only been around about 13 years. First Class was an unofficial reboot until DoFP made it not a reboot. They were wishy washy about it being a reboot when people complained about the continuity being off from the OT. Saying that they were just making an X-men movie without being beholden to the previous movies. But they never officially said it was a reboot. It didn't help that the movie began like the 1st X-men movie.

I think when people say that I think they mean they should look older. Fassbender and McAvoy's characters still look like they did in the 60s. All they did was give McAvoy longer hair which they took away and now he looks younger than he did in First Class.
