For me, this show is becoming the Sandor Clegaine Hour. One of the the best characters in any show. Ever. He is. He is dark, brooding, mysterious, violent, with a underlying kindness. It seems we will find out exactly what made The Hound who he is and what he was before. A lot of what made the Hound the Hound was his brother. He was OK when he was serving Robert but he wasn't taking a bit of Joffrey's bullshit. The decency was always there. And I think he's trying to atone for his past. It's what he said to Thoros (or Beric) when they asked why he was so grumpy, "experience". He's getting over his fear of fire. If Rory McCann doesn't get an Emmy nomination, there's something rotten in Westeros. Clegane isn't Clegane with another actor. His delivery is flawless and I have to admire someone, even fictional, who can swear better than me. Like Michael K. Williams with Omar Little, an amazing performance.

Another thought. How did Jorah become to be imprisoned in the Citadel. Not imprisoned but quarantined. Dany sent him to get his greyscale cured at any cost. The Archmaesters of the Citadel is where he thought it most likely to happen. They quarantined him because greyscale is contagious. Granted, he arrived in Westeros alarmingly fast, but the show stopped trying to make sense of timing and geography years ago.

I hope Cersei wins the day when this whole thing is finished. Probably because she's the best actor or actress on the show. Cersei has the distinct advantage of being the most ruthless person in the entire show. She won't let anything stand between her and what she wants, whereas the other character do have their limits, as we've seen throughout. Yeah and she has nothing to lose. Dany is trying to acquire a kingdom, Jon is literally trying to save the world and Cersei could watch it all burn for all she cares. She's going down, but she's going down swinging. No thoughts of swallowing poison this time.

Littlefinger and Brandon Stark the Elkder (aka the Night's King) are also most ruthless. Littlefinger started the entire war by killing Jon Arryn. The only factor he has not included into his equation is Brandon Stark the Elder, who plays a total different style of GoT. Eliria(sp?) Sand and Euron Greyjoy are also without moral standards etc. pp., but their characters suck big time.

Tyrion used to be far and away the best character, book and show. He's really been neutered these past few seasons. Really hoping he gets some moments to shine again.
Xeliou doesn't post in this thread? Probably hates GoT, thinks the elite are using it to brainwash the public, or something.

I hope Cersei wins the day when this whole thing is finished. I'd hate to see Dany on the throne The makers of GAME OF THRONES have recently somewhat mocked you and the millions of others who think your way. In short, what they have said is that GOT is not LORD OF THE RINGS. They know viewers are expecting some good vs evil concrete outcome with a winner (as you said "wins the day") like LOTR. They said in a recent interview that is not where the show is heading or what the show is about. And I have to agree with them. Why do you and millions of other viewers think there is going to be a "winner"? This is a TV show, not a sporting event. When I tune in to a Knick game I know in three hours there will be a winner and loser (Knicks). The makers of GOT are making it clear via their interviews and the very show itself that this program is not a contest of good vs evil, right vs. wrong, winner vs. loser. Folks, do not expect GAME OF THRONES to end in this manner:

I'm hoping it doesn't have a nice happy ending. I don't like this "Clang Clang Clang go the Swords" stuff. Didn't have any use for LOTR. My wife asked me to start watching this and I reluctantly agreed. But I got hooked when Ned Stark's head hit the ground (yeah, I know, spoilers. And Rosebud was Charles Kane's sled). I felt the show was different when the main character (and the only name actor) doesn't make it out of the first season. Which leads me to think that this show won't have a happy ending. Bad guys dead, good guys on the throne, snow (not Jon) melting, flowers poking up through the ground, birds singing etc. I don't think the Walkers will take over Westeros and kill everything. I can see a Gotterdammerung ending, with nearly everyone dead.

I can see a Gotterdammerung ending, with nearly everyone dead. There is absolutely no reason to think that there would be a "happy" ending. The show has made its bones defying TV-watchers' expectations with episodes like Baelor and the Red Wedding episode (even though book readers knew of these events). I remember watching those two episodes a second and third time and each time, having already seen it, I honestly expected something different to happen. At the last second, Ned moves his head and avoids the axe. The Hound shows up one minute earlier and somehow prevents Robb/Catelyn's deaths. Something. One of the fundamental arcs affecting every character is that engaging in war and even "winning" a war has long-lasting, life-altering consequences. It's not a matter of simply defeating your enemies and moving forward but rather, they are faced with new enemies, stronger forces and even their own emotional/spiritual wounds from having engaged in the war in the first place. Cersei is a prime example of that. Whoever "wins," it certainly won't be a victory in the Hollywood sense that we're used to.

Bout time something shit happened him Delighted to hear the Hound had a cool ep. My favourite GoT character. I hated his cameo. Apparently they brought him on the show as a gift for Maisee Williams, a big fan. If you want to give her a gift, arrange for him to come to the set and meet her, don't cast the guy in the damn show. The whole sequence amounted to nothing more than an excuse for the two to sit next to each other while he gives her that self-aware grin. I think I was even more annoyed by Thomas Turgoose from This is England in that scene though. "Blackberry wine, I made it myself." Fuck this scene!

It was not until afterwards that I learned who he was and saw the backlash.

ASOIAF has never been about typical fairy tale clichés, and no central character will be living happily ever after in this world.

Cercei and Jaime was good. Jaime is getting smart and smarter. What show have been watching, dude? Jaime the actor was average and as for the Jaime the character - he was humiliated throughout the episode. I don't know how he has become smarter and smarter. A bit better but that has much to do with the fact that he is incapable of doing what he did best. Yeah, once he kills Cersei and heads north, I would say that he has become smarter.

I cant stand Cersei, never liked her.
Really, I only liked Ned (Which was heart breaking seeing what happened to him), Tyrion Lannister, and Jon Snow (After season 5 I was like, well this sucks. Thank god for S6E2). I also am not big on Dany. In the end my favorite character by far is Jon Snow. I mean, I was always Pro Starks and Anti Lannisters. Joffrey was such a little douche nugget.

I had no idea either, and I quite liked the scene - Arya's first impulse was obviously to kill all those soldiers, but then she realised that they may have been Lannister soldiers but they were basically just ordinary men who didn't deserve being killed.

Ep:2 started off a little slow, but when Arya turned north it drew me right in.
