The Spoils of War
Synopsis: Daenerys holds court. Cersei returns a gift. Jaime learns from his mistakes. Director: Matt Shakman IMDb rating: 9.9 IMDb v2.0: 8.2 RT rating: 100% (9.3 average)
The third episode just aired, but it's never too early to start talking about the next one. Just 4 episodes left this season and from what we've heard so far this episode is going to be a big one. Daenerys looks very pissed, is she just angry or will she go 'Mad Queen' mode?

I just watched the 4th Episode The Spoils Of War. Spoiler - Evidence of The Dead being fought against in the past shown by Snow to The Mother of Dragons. One Dragon used in a battle. The arrow gun first used in a battle.

This episode leaves it hanging as to whether it refers to Daenerys in the end of this battle or Cersei. It's a good episode. Arya is back home with Sansa and brother Bran at Winterfell. She gives a shock to Brienne in a practice duel as she shows just how skilled with a blade she has now become in view of her sister and Little Finger. One wonders where the other 2 Dragons are as Daenerys only used one and they were all together before she went off to battle.

I can't seen to find it anywhere.

The title for this episode matched so it seemed reasonable that the title they posted for the next one (Death Of The Queen) would be accurate as well. Of course they could be in error.

Just finished it. Amazing episode. This episode was great but wasn't it short? It was less than an hour, but it makes sense given what the budget had to be. They've had some big battles before but this one was in broad daylight with a dragon, Dothraki, & a whole Lannister army. That's not something they want to stretch for a half hour. The last part had to be around 15 minutes and I don;t think I could have handled much more than that. I was sure someone was going to die by the end and it was looking like Bronn until it looked like Jaime. I also thought one of the dragons was a goner, but there was only one and it was the big kahuna, so I figured he was safe for now.

I've always liked Bronn but I was literally screaming for someone to kill him before he shot Drogon. For me that episode was intense. Dany was right to assert her power her desire for everyone to bend the knee is rubbing me the wrong way. Oh I REALLY wanted Jon to beat Theon into the sand.

Although I hate another fan theory coming true, there was some pretty clear imagery with the three horses needing riders in the foreground.

Top 5 all time episodes for sure, so many classic moments. As soon as their scene began, I wondered how they would show Bran destroying Littlefinger. All it took was four words. "Chaos is a ladder." Translation: I literally know everything, bozo. I'm the one guy on this continent you cannot bullshit, not for a second. The look on Baelish's face was priceless. Also a great reaction shot of Theon when he sees Jon on the beach.
Arya comes home; Arya & Brienne sparring; Dany foolishly doubling down on her claim to Jon; a dragon in a proper battle. No wonder there are less episodes this season, HBO probably had to take out a loan from the Iron Bank to make that battle look as incredible as it did.
This was the first time I was rooting against Bronn and for Dany in any given scene. It was my first legit fist-pump Dany moment, they're usually contrived and eyeroll inducing. I wonder if Ed Sheeran got roasted out there? Makes you wonder how the whole scene will play out in the book (assuming GRRM ever finishes ASOIAF).
This episode was as good as it gets, could possibly be my favorite episode overall due to the sheer volume of amazing moments. Hardhome and BotB were epic, but this episode gave us a legendary battle along with character moment after character moment from start to finish. Bravo.

Rey KahukaBronn probably won't be there for sure. The show is so different from the book it's impossible to know.

For the first time I wasn't sure who to root for...I've always loved Bronn, but Dany and her dragon won out. I didn't want to see Bronn die but I didn't want to see him get that spear off either! Now he will go back and tell Cersei it worked and she will commission a whole slew of them I'm sure! Not sure why Dany burned up all the food, she could have used it?

There can be no question whom to support in this. Daenerys is a foreign invader with weapons of mass destruction and she is using them to destroy the harvest. Her brainless fans will need forever to understand it but the rest of the world can see it clearly now.

I usually hate long battle scenes, and typically tune parts of them out. One of the circles of Hell would have me strapped to a seat watching Kurosawa's Ran over and over.
But they did a fantastic job with this one. Peter Jackson & co. could learn a thing or two, or three.
