And what a satisfying day it was when The Avengers blew past all previously DC-set goalposts and The Dark Knight Rises failed to measure up. Then Man of Steel was announced and the Nolanites assumed that film would even the score, and then... it didn't, and things have only gotten uglier from there. This is actually a pretty honest assessment of what happened. And then SS was poorly received, and then BVS was a total disaster while Civil War was epic hit and that was the knock out blow. WW I guess is DC getting to it's knees finally, but it has a long way to go to stand up again.

But Nolanites aren't DCEU fans, especially after DCEU Batman was created. The DCEU is too unrealistic for Nolanites, and Nolan is a better director than all three so far.
If comic book fans can be tribal, they are even more tribal within their own parent company. See MCU vs Fox vs Sony as well.

Batman Begins came before Ironman so try again. What does Batman Begins have to do with it? The trolling didn't start until right after Iron Man was released in 2008. Yeah, flaming started by DC fans. Because at the time Ironman came out MCU had no other movies. Ironman came out and Marvel fans were joyous but then nolanites came to the IM boards to bash IM. Then TDK came shortly after and nolanites exploded even more. You can complain about MCU fans all you want but fact of the matter is MCU fans only ever argued with DC fans and Foxverse and Sony fans. DC during the time of TDK trilogy waged war on every major fanbase including Twilight fans, LOTR fans, StarWars fans, etc. They even made death threats.

And Lee's death wasn't exploited the way Ledgers' was. So yeah, one cast member dying tragically DOES do that. I guess you didn't watch The Dark Knight at all. The movie never once exploits the death for a tear or two like Furious 7 did with Paul Walker. The fact that the marketing used Ledger's name is the obvious route to take. Not using his name and ignoring his tragic death would've been a big mistake. That would've disrespected his name.

The Dark Knight Rises may have never gotten to the mark The Avengers did even without the tragedy, but it had the most crippling Box Office set back of all time. That crazy bastard that shot up the theater in Colorado singlehandedly made sure that The Dark Knight Rises wouldn't live up to its potential. Obviously with a tragedy like that, a movie is trivial and worthless, but it still happened and I know many people that decided against seeing it for that reason.

I don't think he means box office-wise. People didn't see TDKR as being as good as TDK.

Plus, The Dark Knight Rises was never going to make 1 billion and a half bucks.

Matt Reeves Clarifies Whether The Batman Solo Movie Fits Into The DCEU Once again, I was right. When all the dumb MCU fans here were jumping up and down celebrating thinking that The Batman movie wasn't going to be part of the DCEU, I explained to the dumb MCU fans that: What Reeves is saying is his Batman movie wont be a shitty movie like Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Tony Stark is in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie, Iron Man rescues Spider-Man when Vulture dumps him in the water, Iron Man comes to the rescue on the ferry boat, Spider-Man uses AI-type suits given to him by Tony Stark rather than using his Spider-Sense, and Spider-Man basically becomes a supporting character in his own movie.
Instead, the Batman movie will be more like Wonder Woman, a stand-alone movie that doesn't have to rely on cameos from characters in other movies but is still a part of the DCEU.And now, Reeves has confirmed that he was indeed saying what I wrote yesterday.

What Reeves is saying is that he's too creatively bankrupt to think of a Batman story that could take place in a world of Superbeings while still focusing on Batman. Whereas Homecoming was able to do so with Spider-Man, Tony having a minor presence.

I remembered when it happened, a lot of it started on the Spider-Man 3 boards before the shitstorm hit iron Man and The Dark Knight message boards. Before that the Batman Begins board got hit by Tim Burton/Joel shitmucker fanboys.

The nolanites did bombarded the Iron Man boards as well as any big summer release. I'm glad their kind went extinct.
