Lolz - Hitchcock describing a Cricket game as ominous......
0/202 is beyond ominous, especially when Ashwin and Jadeja bat at 8 and 9, and Pujara and Kohli are next to come. India could be looking at a first innings lead of 800 here.
Singapore beat Zimbabwe the other day in a T20 in an interesting little tournament being played that includes Nepal in Singapore. Whilst all of us here agree that Test Cricket is the real deal, and the primary driver of conversation on here, for lower ranked and newer nations, T20 cricket is the gateway. And, furthermore, the decision by the ICC to grant all T20I matches full international status regardless of the teams competing is one of their best decisions ever.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO46113Not for the first or undoubtedly the last time, de Kock proudly fighting for the Saffers. He's too good to be a number 6, but I know some of you have a different view of where a wicket keeper batsman should actually bat. Elgar showing the quality fortitude for opening the batting and being in it for a long haul. India probably going to get a 100 lead, can they make enough runs to set Saffers a target and thus spin them out on the last day? What you reckon peeps?

Having watched some of it yesterday arvo, It really should be a draw. The pitch isn’t flat, but it’s solid, slow and not doing a lot. From here, South Africa only has to bat sensibly for a draw. India has to be a little careful to not go too hard setting a target. Philander is experienced, Rabada is a genuine quick and Maharaj is no mug either. It could go really pear shaped really quick if they aren’t careful. I can’t see it with Pujara and Saha - neither are known for swinging the bat, nor tossing it away - but 2 good cherries and anything is possible.

Think India will likely win. Better batting effort by Saffers than I expected though. But their spinners are atrocious.

At the moment R Sharma is the greatest beneficiary of home conditions. The only reason I like Jadeja is that he is one of the least talented cricketers who has somehow achieved a bit in international cricket. Not that he is not helped by familiar home conditions but that there are more talented cricketer than him in the domestic circuit who could make use of home conditions in international cricket. He somehow played in tests without being a bowler who could turn a lot. His batting though has improved recently and he was able to get a few runs in Aus & England.
If this RG Sharma Person gets more Tests as an opener in India he could actually score 20 sixes in a match.

I was left scratching my head at Saffers game plan. Their seamers were very economical and yet bowled very few overs. Their spinners were getting hard spanking and yet they kept bowling.

Chris Silverwood: England appoint new head coach. - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/49957493Hmm, okay, bit surprising I think, guess we will have to see. Actually met him years ago and had a chat, nice bloke. I was on holiday in Scarborough and staying at a hotel opposite the Scarborough Cricket Club and Yorkshire had a match there, bumped into Chris outside the hotel. I wanted to go watch the cricket but the girl I was with at the time wasn't so keen! I love out grounds where the counties often play once a season. Scarborough C.C. >

hitchcockthelegendBest of luck under your new coach. I believe what England need is to not get tempted by great performances of their white ball players and bring them in Tests based on what they do in the limited over formats. I believe England has the best ODI side is the world and one of the best t-20 sides. They still have an Okay Test side but they should ideally be better than they are in the Test format.

3-0 whitewash by the Lankans over the Pakistanis. I wouldn't have predicted this result even if you asked me 1000 times and not even if Sri Lanka toured with its A-side.

I had a casual glance and barely recognised a single Sri Lankan player. Pakistan as usual are as hot and cold as their famed deserts.....

South Africa is all sorts here. 3/36 chasing 600 is not good.
