Can SL win this match? I wasn't expecting it will be such a tough fight! And Windies beat England. I am surprised there too despite their Test series win. Unbelievable things are happening. Sri Lanka SHOULD win now. 49 to get with 8 wickets in the shed, two blokes on 50*+. Pitch is still doing a bit, and RSA have some champions in Steyn and Rabada, but it’s $1.10 Sri Lanka.....

As for the Windies v England. Great result now, but terrible news for the WC. Every time England play on a wicket that does a bit, they get rolled. Whaddya reckon the poms are going to get at a home WC ? Unless Warner and Smith come back and find some ridiculous form, put every dollar you can on a England v India WC Final......

Lanka winning this series is one of the great results ever for me, really is. How wonderful.
England, everybody knows that they have a collapse in them. Fact is is that it was nothing to do with a pitch doing something, they were absolutely cruising till Morgan holed out. Even then there was enough to suggest they should still go on and win, and then you get an umpire decision that beggars belief (Curran) and you feel it's one of those days - they shouldn't have dropped Woakes either - you all know my stance on chopping and changing a winning side for the sake of rotation.
Just a blip I would think, keeps it interesting though as the Windies will be lifted considerably by it.

And the Lankans do it again !
After such an abject performance in Australia, I am stunned they’ve turned it around, and in South Africa no less.
If, and it’s an if, they can find some consistency they have the base of a really good side. Karunaratne at the top and captain, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera and new guy Oshawa Fernando look a strong middle order, Dhananjaya De Silva a handy all rounder, Dickwella a handy keeper batsman, and 3 decent quicks in Rajitha, Lakmal and Viswa Fernando.
What they need is one of these 4 batsmen to go up to the next level (Sanga or Mahela Level), a genuine all conditions spinner like Nathan Lyon and a bit of depth in players pushing the top guys - and they are going to go well over the next few years......

I don't think it's s case of "if there's something in the wicket," but England do have days like this, and will gave at least one like this in the WC. If it's a knockout game, they don't win the tourney. Simple as that. For mine they are easily the best ODI team in the world, but vatting efforrs like this may yet cost them.

Congrats to Sri Lanka. Arsey win in the first game, decisive win in the second. Will be interesting to see whst the result means for both teams going forward. Could be a WTF moment in future years with normsl service straight wway resuming or the start of either an SL climb or an SA slide, or both.

If England win the WC I will eat my own head. They just don't have it mentally.

so will DINESH CHANDIMAL (29 years) and ANGELO MATHEWS (31 years) come back to this lankan side? that would make them seriously strong.

I think Mathews has the temperament and technique to make it as an opener, and maybe he takes Thirimanne’s spot. But 1,3,4,5,6 all look pretty well sewn up at the moment. I was very happy moressed by O.Fernando is this Innings. No nerves, sensible, correct batting.

If England win the WC I will eat my own head. They just don't have it mentally. You can say the exact same about South Africa and New Zealand too. Honestly, after the 3 Lions won a penalty shootout at their World Cup, anything is possible. At home, with their batting depth and bowling diversity, England are raging favourites. It’s their propensity to collapses out of nowhere and an inability to make the most of bowler friendly conditions that will kill them, not nerves or bottle.

I think RSA have a few issues batting. Faf isn’t getting daddy hundreds, Elgar hasn’t taken that next big step, nor Bavuma, Amla is in decline. The only plusses are de Kock and Markram. Bowling they should be fine, even once Steyn goes. Rabada is class, as is Olivier and Philander. Maharaj is doing his job well enough.

Cricket Stinks! Sanath Jayasuriya: Ex-Sri Lanka captain banned after admitting corruption charges - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/47371282Sandpaper doesn't seem so relevant now... Or lets turn my back on my country... Duanne Olivier: Yorkshire sign South Africa fast bowler on three-year Kolpak deal - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/43155027I wonder what White Lightning Allan Donald thinks, given he refused to jump in for British citizenship and waited for Saffers exile from Test Cricket to represent his country? Pah!

Jayasuriya - didn’t really admit to anything earth shattering at all. Failure to hand over a phone is no smoking gun. However, like a few other countries, what is classed as ‘corruption’ in International circles might not be classed as such in Sri Lanka.
Olivier and Kolpak - I have absolutely no sympathy at all for South Africa in this situation. Cricket in RSA does 2 things very, very badly. 1. Is that they get decidedly less money from Asian TV than other nations, including New Zealand and Bangladesh. Why, I’ll never know, but they do. And 2. The idiotic reverse apartheid quota system. Instead of picking the best 11 based on merit, there is limits to how many whites can be picked. It’s 5. Shockingly, if a player doesn’t think he can make into the five regularly, he signs a Kolpak deal for more money than RSA would pay him anyway. There’s a reason why middle class white cricketers are leaving the country in droves, and Kolpak is a massive incentive.

Unlucky I guess
