So T'Challa is the ruling monarch and Kilmonger is leading the people to revolt against T'Challa so they can have a democracy instead of a monarchy? OK, that's beginning to make more sense now. No, he just wants the Throne for himself. ^ This.

Looks terrible! Why do they keep saying "The revolution will not be televised"? Who is revolting and what are they revolting against?
And why won't the revolution be televised? Are they banning all media coverage of the revolution? Looks incredible to Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman. Also, "the revolution will not be televised" is not actual dialog from the film, its part of the song that plays during the trailer.

No, he just wants the Throne for himself. We have come to the point of no return, guys. DC-Fan is going to stick with the mentality that T'Challa is a ruling evil monarch like he is with thinking Steve Rogers is a blood thirsty, disgusting tyrant. It's only a matter of time till, no, don't want to feed him anymore.

DC-Fan is wrong about Killmonger trying to install a democratic government via revolutionary takeover.

As for whether or not T'Challa is an evil monarch, that just depends whose writing the history books. For example, during the American Revolution, the Colonists considered George Washington a hero and Benedict Arnold a traitor while the British considered George Washington (and the rest of the Founding Fathers) to be traitors to the King and Benedict Arnold to be a hero.
It just depends on which side's point of view you're looking at. So depending on perspective, it may be a true statement that T'Challa is an evil monarch. If Kilmonger is leading the people in a revolution against T'Challa, then that means there's a group of people who think that T'Challa is either not the rightful King or not a benevolent King. It all depends on perspective.

Nah, it's just because you have a tick for labeling anything in the MCU a dictator. You called Feige a dictator. You called Captain America one, and now you're trying to belittle Black Panther by calling him a dictator because it's an MCU product.

Oh, f**k you!!! Benedict Arnold was not generally by Britain as well! LOL! You don't know history. During the American Revolution, the British considered Benedict Arnold a hero just like the many in the Middle East considered bin Laden a hero for 9/11. Did you not see on 9/11 the footage of people in the Middle East cheering when the towers collapsed?
In the Star Trek TNG episode "The Defector", the Enterprise picks up a Romulan officer who wants to defect. After some investigating, Picard finds out that the Romulan officer is an Admiral who was known as "The Butcher" because of the many brutalities he was responsible for during the war. When Picard confronted him with that information, he told Picard that "One world's butcher is another world's hero". The Romulans were at war. From the enemy's point of view, he was a butcher but from the Romulans point of view, he was a hero.
The same thing applies to T'Challa. It all depends on which side's point of view you're looking at. If Kilmonger is leading the people in a revolution against T'Challa, then that means there's a group of people that aren't satisfied with T'Challa being the King, either because they don't think T'Challa is the rightful King or because they don't think T'Challa is a benevolent King. So depending on which side's point of view you're looking at, it may be a true statement that T'Challa is an evil monarch and that's why the people are revolting against T'Challa.

Pretty sure the movie tells it from T'Challa's POV, the main character. Not all monarchs are dictators. Ever heard of kings, queens, princes, princesses?

He may have been at first, but his reputation went down the toilet as the time went by. And Osama Bin Laden got banned from Saudi Arabia for his action and disowned by his own family as well.

You're not entirely wrong, my combative friend. Your thinking is just astonishingly reductive. Black Panther defies your attempts to overlay simplistic, absolutes on to it. T'Challa rules with an iron hand. His mandate demands that he keep Wakanda safe and pure - a homogenous culture free from all external influences. He can and does resort to murder to enforce this edict. Killmonger wants to see Wakanda take, what he feels, is its rightful place on the world stage as a sovereign power instead of portraying itself as a weak nation with a backward culture. Killmonger will forge alliances both internal and external to accomplish his goal. And, of course, murder is also not off of the table for him either. Thematically, Black Panther is one of the most morally, politically and culturally dynamic characters Marvel has. As Coogler stated himself, T'challa will constantly have to make decisions in the haze of politics and the fog of war. He will need to quickly determine who is a friend and who is an enemy. If Coogler can deliver on half of the thematic promise of the character and his world, Black Panther will be one of the best "superhero" films ever made. Hee hee hee...

Sounds like under T'Challa, Wakanda is like a prison state, with restrictions on personal freedoms. And this "good guy" King is willing to resort to murdering his own citizens to keep everyone in line. It's no wonder the people want to revolt against T'Challa!
