It's not stupid at all. It's completely valid and fair to rate a series after only watching the pilot episode. No, it's not.

Actually, three times is the charm, and forms a pattern. Defenders was a massive failure too, it only got 75% on RT which is bad for TV shows, they usually being in the 90ies on RT. Worse: it was the least seen Netflix show evah (even fewer viewers even than Iron Fist). So, that's not good for MCU's TV equivalent of The Avengers. Considering this, it was the worst failure of the three.
To be fair, it's not really fair that, I still liked Defenders (and some previous shows) better than many of the raccoon turds posing as movies. But these have the built-in children audiences, too kiddy to fail.
There is no pattern. The OP failed to mention SM:HC, GOTG Vol2, and Thor, all of which received overwhelmingly positive reviews. So three huge successes and two failures (TV). It seems the MCU is doing better than ever in the movie world. I never said it didn’t any successes.
