When will it become mainstream entertainment?

It's normal on the indie circuit but big sponsors refuse to back it on mainstream family channels. Why? All adults seem to serve with dedication and dignity in the military equally.

I cannot stand intergender matches. I've seen a lot of those at indy shows where big dudes are bumping and selling for girls that weigh 120lbs and look like they're in 9th grade. Makes me sick. Besides the fact of how ridiculous it looks, what does it do for the guy? If he wins, big deal he beat a girl. If he loses it makes him look pathetic. nutplexes, titplexes, etc... Maybe I'm behind the times but this is just a bunch of bullsh-t. If that's what's considered cutting edge I'm proud to be behind the times.

Nope. Never works. The only time it ever worked was with Chyna because she was bigger than some the male wrestlers on the roster.
A mixed tag team match can be done well, but singles competition? No way.

It worked with Chyna because she was used as a man in the men's division. I posted the question on another board to get people's thoughts on it and a lot of the responses I got was "I don't mind it if it's done right", or "if it's booked a certain way". What that means I haven't the slightest idea, but it's just bad all around for a variety of reasons and I don't see that kind of thing becoming mainstream. At least I hope not.

Lucha Underground shows how it can be done right.
Also, I see no problem with it. If Black Widow can take out a room full of security guards, then I can accept it in a one-on-one match in pro-wrestling.

The intergender tradition actually goes back further than that in the Mexican Wrestling world.

I've never watched lucha underground so I really can't judge how they do it there. I used to watch a bunch of AAA in the 90's and CMLL a little bit too but I wasn't exposed to the intergender stuff in any of the stuff I watched. But there are more and more American indies doing it in tag matches and singles in some cases.

@screamingtreefrogs
Well, you know what they say. A true professional wrestler can wrestle a broom and convince the crowd that the broom is winning.

Actually, the WWE should sign that 9 year old girl. She sells it better than some of their wrestlers.

It should never go mainstream. If real combat sports did it men would dominate. Wrestling on a mainstream level needs to be realistic.

I just don't think the words pro wrestling and realistic go together. Wrestling is right in the name! When pro wrestling is at it's best people think what's happening is real when it's not. That's the art of it. You're not going to do that with intergender wrestling. Guys on here talk about Chyna but that was a nice side show attraction. Stuff like that doesn't draw long term.
