Funny since you're talking about all the other Marvel movies right now. I guess they're not simply forgotten. Mentioning them in passing is not the same as fondly remembering them the way say, Robocop was when it came out in 87 and was a sleeper hit. These MCU movies are like the opposite situation. They get massive praise even before they come out, then after they do, they just fade off. Given the praise they get, the fade is remarkable. But its the same for all Disney films of recent decades. I dont know what the marketing budget is, but it has to be impressive.

No, seriously. He thinks that New World Order conspiracy theory is basically about everyone oppressing white men. Not everyone-just the owners of the big media companies. Whether it is commercials or media content, the white male is demonized or lampooned. Family Guy, Simpsons, Sopranos, Breaking Bad.... It is consistent right from 1975 when Ron Ely's Doc Savage was injected with comedy elements by the studio. I have challenged folk to provide an example that bursts the theory but alas no one has been up to the challenge. As we said with Marvel characters--Captain America is neurotic and doubting, Thor is played for laughs or surrounded by a United Nations crew. Nick Fury is the confident in charge guy (someone said he was a bad guy-yet when he was injured and assumed dead there was an effort to generate sympathy for him so I dont buy that claim). I am sure the Black Panther will be spared that multiculturalism though-but that only validates the theory all the more.

Is there a reason why this clown hasn't been banned yet? Maybe because I don't have to resort to name calling to make a point?

What's the point of offering a constructive rebuttal when you're obviously going to resort to conspiracy theories that even Alex Jones would see as utterly retarded?

And Ragnarok will be forgotten in about 2 months like all other Marvel movies. Except for all the ones that aren't...which are most of them. People still talk about Iron Man and Cap and Thor, the only reasoning you have for this is "Well, Marvel is just so good at movies people expect them to succeed so it's not a surprise." Hence why WW got the attention it did. Her film was actually passable, as opposed to the critical failures of SS and BvS. It stood out more for being simply being decent.

Appeals to authority are not a good response either! Anyway, I dont want to get into the conspiracy again because every time I do, people never can find examples that debunk the theory anyway. It's one of those "I hate being right" situations. And if people are still gushing with praise for Ragnarok in a few months time I will come back here and issue a full apology for my cynicism on corporate marketing.

Conspiracy theories are usually not that hard to debunk. It's just that, when it comes to you, no one can be bothered to do so because it would be like trying to argue with a rotting corpse.

No, some have tried, but the ideological commitment of the studios towards their agenda is too obvious now. One would have to be blind not to see it-or be completely ignorant of film and tv from before the 1980s. If people could offer up characters that defy the theory they would-but they can't find them because the media companies don't bother to disguise their beliefs and prejudices. John Carter might be an example where something traditional was being offered (I was so-so about the film) yet Disney deliberately marketed it badly as if they wanted it to fail. Even those who did not clue into this theory were perplexed why Disney did such a bad job marketing it when they were so aggressive and savvy with their other franchises. But rest assured Ragnarok will be the best reviewed movie ever... until the next Disney franchise film comes out.

I wonder what the movie will settle on. At this point I think it might be 95%+ Think lower. Maybe 85%. It's just not possible that no other top critics (besides variety) have chimed in with rotten ratings. They're waiting for the US release and then they're going to pounce.

This thread needs to get back on track real quick. A movie getting good reviews is a good thing not a reason for people to start arguing and name calling. It must be hard to be a DC fan right now. You're doing the same thing that you criticise people like DC Fan for doing.

Blame primemover for hijacking this thread and polluting it with conspiracy theories that are idiotic even by Alex Jones’ standards.
