If Thor makes 900m+, will Taika Waititi take control of the MCU like Whedon did after Avengers, only to create the awful Avengers: Age of Ultron? Or like James Gunn after GOTG who made the even worse GOTG2? What mess will Taika Waititi helm? - Taika Waititi.

Granted SS is worse than even GOTG2. BvS isn’t quite that level.

GOTG2 was good, if you weren't expecting them to kill off the entire cast and destroy the Universe.
You know, "stakes".

There's really no need to bring up DC at all here. You could have named hundreds of other movies including Marvels very own Ghost Rider or Elektra.

Why go back a decade when we have more recent samples? Suicide Squad was just desperation. It is something that should have been done after other movies like a solo Batman to set up the new Joker & Harley who is very new to mass audiences. The movie had some decent things, but they spent too much time building the Joker/Harley relationship & the villain sucked. We should have seen at least 3 of the characters in prior films BvS was horrible in so many ways. Batman was not Batman. Superman was not Superman. Elektra & Ghost Rider aren't MCU. It's perfectly logical to compare MCU to DCEU DC vs Marvel is realistically as normal as the old Star Trek vs Star Wars from the 80s. Both franchises have a devoted following. There's a lot of crossover. I wish DC would get it together. My feeling is it's the studio kibitsing messing it up when they need to let the comic book guys run the show like Marvel did. As for the OP-no. I doubt he wants it. It likely only works in certain settings. I don't see it working for Cap or Iron Man.

The thread is about the director of Thor and his possibly future involvement with other Marvel movies. There's no reason at all to compare what was said in this thread to the DCEU which wasn't even mentioned. If you wanted to make a more recent comparison there's there's dozens of shitty movies that came out in the last few years. Compare it to Transformers 5, Monster Trucks, Snatched, The Mummy, The Emoji movie etc. People should be able to criticize a Marvel movie without it inevitably turning into Marvel vs DC every time.

With the right person, I could see Black Widow helmed as a dark comedy. Like a sendup of both the traditionally male dominated spy-fi flicks a la James Bond that devalue women (intentionally or not) and the countering female oriented spy thrillers that try to outdo the former by making the female lead either too serious so that she's not charming or feminine. But that'd be a tough task even for Marvel.

Peter Quill: You put your turd in my bed, I shave you. Rocket: Oh, it won't be my turd. It'll be Drax's. Drax: Hahahahaha I have famously huge turds. ...... Peter Quill: I'm gonna make some weird shit. Etc It is beyond poor comedy, it is bottom of the barrel lowbrow toilet humor for the intelligence age of 8 year olds.

Compare it to Transformers 5, Didn't see Didn't see , Didn't see , Didn't see Didn't see. I pick my movies a bit more carefully maybe? Silence was good Colossal was good. Free Fire was good. The Yu-Gi-Oh movie & Your Name were good. King Kong was good. The only movie I've seen this year in theater I didn't like was It Comes at Night. My daughter loved it but I hate those claustrophobic horror movies she loves. But it is more natural to compare like items. I don't normally compare hamburgers to cake. And DC turned the keys of DC over to Snyder for his success on 300 & Watchmen, but took far longer to take them back.

Black Widow has potential but if Taika Waititi gets his hands on it the potential will be diminished.

They use the word 4 times in a movie. one is merely being a description. And the usage of the word "shit" in the last case is something common to writing. It's no different than Batman saying "Oh Shit" when fighting Doomsday in BvS. Grow a thicker skin man.
