So I've noticed commercials have started. And my cable provider (Dish) - which offers numerous 'Musical Channels' - has just put on 5 Channels of Christmas Music - Traditional, Holiday Pop, SXM Holly, etc. I'm diggin' it When do you start 'celebrating'?

Costco started celebrating it the second week of October. Halloween - Christmas here is awesome. Kickoff of the Holidays in my eyes. Not only do you have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas - cooler temps in the 50s in my area..... but... World Series, Hockey, NBA, College Football, NFL, College Basketball. Awesome stuff

No, Christmas goes away too soon. If putting up decorations gets you in a good spirit, is that really a bad thing?

I have the lights on until the sixth too. Januray 6th is the day of the three kings.

Christmas sucks, I don't start celebrating it period. The music sucks, the overly sentimental phoniness of it all sucks, and the constant advertising sucks. Most people only celebrate Christmas because they've been brainwashed into doing so, people are brain dead sheep who will do anything authority figures tell them to do, in this case the authority figures being the mainstream media and/or their family, so they do it without thinking. With any research they would realize that the story behind Christmas is a load of shit and the whole holiday is both an attempt by the church to brainwash you and an attempt by corporations to get you to buy stuff.
I also get so sick of the fake happiness and cheesy sentimentality of it, people telling you to be kind and merry and all without knowing you, well guess what, life isn't like fairy tales, there are no happy endings and not everyone has a perfect family to celebrate with. Suicides always spike during the holiday season because people feel worthless if they aren't happy or don't have family because that's what a bunch of assholes tell them.
I don't buy anything for Christmas, I never watch any of those god-awful sentimental phony trash Christmas movies, and I would rather listen to a recording of nails on a chalkboard than listen to Christmas music. Christmas is garbage and a sign of how stupid people are and what a screwed up society we live in. Fuck Christmas

Usually whenever FOX News runs their first overhyped story about The War On Christmas. As far as wars go, it's my favorite, simply on account of you don't see many Flag Draped coffins on the news.

I started seeing stuff on the 1st, the day after Halloween. Some places put up lights and even trees. No joke.

Also hates birthdays, bar mitzvahs, sympathy for hurricane-hit cities, and if Teddy Bridgewater came back and led the Vikings to the Super Bowl, he wouldn't want him to get any more attention or praise than any other QB.

not if you are american - you are free you see. you can do what you want any time you want. unless its during some kind of manipulating anthem with flags and and stuff . at least there are now two ways on acting upon it - that is surely still peforming for a load of bull sh't - i can not see the differnce - i am free to do one of two things - yippee.. yay.

Teddy Bridgewater?? I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. What does he have to do with this discussion? Birthdays? Bar Mitzvahs? Don't recall ever commenting on either of them. Sympathy for hurricane hit cities? My comments about cities sports teams winning after tragedies had nothing to do with sympathy, just saying it's absurd to say that winning a sports title makes up for the death and destruction of a hurricane. Now explain the Teddy Bridgewater comment.
