Disagree. I think there was too much emphasis placed on the humor. Usually in a film, there are 1 or 2 comedic relief characters that serve as the tension relievers. In Ragnarok, everyone had some form of comedic input which is totally unnecessary (unless you are making a comedy film which this is in disguise of a superhero film). Korgs lines are funny and so are most of Thors. But nope, Disney has to give Valkiry, Grandmaster, Banner, even Hela some sort of gag. And on top make Thor look like a dithering bufoon when handling Stranges ornaments and screaming like a girl at getting his haircut (real cringey and eye rolling moments). Just removing 50% of the humor and replacing it with some better character and/or action would have taken nothing away from the "fun" aspect of Ragnarok. And I have seen it twice. I really don't actually. In fact, I was a little surprised because I didn't feel like there was any more humor than was in Guardians or Ant Man. Yeah more characters might get involved, but I didn't feel any of it was unnecessary. I don't see the problem with it having more comedy. They MCU has plenty of highly serious films, and don't forget coming up is Black Panther and Infinity War, so getting a lighter film right before that is perfectly fine. The ornaments and hair cuts scenes didn't make me cringe or eye roll at all. IDK what to tell you. Well, I was hoping Ragnarok to keep in line with the Thor franchise, which is my 2nd most liked (until Ragnarok) behind Captain America trilogy. I was expecting Thor 3 would build upon the great ending and keep the tone of The Dark World but Ragnarok is so much different it borders on parody (which the theatrical play at beginning basically is) which I was disappointed in. I understand why Disney made Thor 3 similar to Guardian's 1, because people dont like the Thor solo films so using a proven box office winning formula has clearly paid off, but in my view at the expense of consistency.

Have you tried seeing it 5 times in theaters? it gets really good An actual Ragnarok would have to take place before that happens.

I really hope Infinity War is a bit more serious. But then again, i heard somewhere that the first thing they wrote for each character were the jokes. Hope that's not the case. I mean, you do know that plenty of MCU films have been serious right? I don't know what you're worried about. The primary people involved brought us Winter Soldier and Civil War, so I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt. Just relax.

I'd much rather talk about the fact that Ares and Beta Ray exist in the MCU.

That's one of the best scenes in movie history period, I just, what? WOW. I'm. No words. That's like asking for nudity to be cut out of porn films. I'm sorry, I just have no idea what you're even talking about now. I really don't.

Well Thor and Loki have stopped talking in Asguarduan style language and Thors personality is completely different in Thor 3. When hes screaming, "ohhhhh my goooood" next to the melting dude, or "iam the god of thunderrrrrr (little sparks from hands) thats something that would not fit his regal, authoritative persona in the first 2 Thor films. Ares and Beta Ray Bill were very cool easter eggs. I would have loved to see Thor have a warm up match in the arena with a new Marvel comics character that only fans would know.

Take it out of the movie and it's a good scene, far from being one of the greatest scenes in movie history, but we know how hyperbolic you are bout everything MCU. in the movie it feels like it doesn't fit tonally with the rest of the movie. at all.The fight at the end with Cap, IM and Winter Soldier is way better and more intense

I thought his previous character would have said those things actually. Especially his Thor 1 persona. Watch the scene where he's trying to talk Sif and the Warriors Three into going to attack the frost giants. That's totally the same guy.
I do agree it would have been great to see a warm up match, but we do have to be realistic. That movie could have been three hours long easily.

I sincerely have no clue what you're talking about with the airport fight. It was so perfectly choreographed and paced right where it needed to be in the film.

The last time i've seen a film fives times in theaters was The Dark Knight. I'm shame of it, not because i didn't like the movie, but because it was a little extreme for a film. I usually stop at 2 viewings, unless i go with friends and relatives.

Well, i wasn't expecting YOU to find anything wrong with anything MCU. You already said that it's the greatest achievement in cinema history and immaculate so there's clearly no point in going any further with this discussion

If you have a problem with a scene that good, then honestly don't know how you enjoy the films at all. Acting like it's just ME (in all caps) being unreasonable for not listening to your claim that there's something wrong with the airport is more about you having a problem with the airport scene. We're simply not watching the same film, I don't know what to tell you. That scene was absolute perfection.

It wouldn't hurt to watch more movies. you know, other than superhero ones. and you're the definition of unreasonable when anyone has anything to say about MCU. Btw, even with that scene, Civil War is still top 5 MCU for me

Has OP ever heard in his entire life of... reading a book? Or even a picture book featuring Marvel -- er, MCU characters called a "comic book"? I feel like it might change his life and the MCU forever...

Idk if I'd go and see it a second time in theaters, but the humor was far..... far better than anything that was in GOTG2.
Btw.....I loved Thor3.

It's absurd to think that IW, directed by the duo who has bought us the MCU's two most serious efforts is somehow going to revert to a broad comedic approach for THEE film that will undoubtedly shape the landscape for the entire fourth phase of the project. They couldn't make a comedy out of that even if they wanted to. When I heard the audible "crack" of Thor's skull under Thanos' grip at comic-con, there was hardly anything funny about that.

They originally DID make it stone serious, and the test audiences didn't like it. So they edited back in humorous scenes they'd cut out of the first print...and people loved it. So I guess the majority wins here.

How many times did you cum your pants, ArfArf? He had see it a second time because he spent the majority of the first viewing either masturbating furiously into his popcorn or trying to eat as much popcorn as possible in between. For the record, I've not seen the film even once and am damn glad for it. Saving my money for Justice League!!!1
