Good ones. Salzmark. Also worth a look:
Heat Lightning
The Black Room
The Walking Dead
Sh! The Octopus
Island Of Lost Men
The Monster And The Girl
The Parson Of Panamint
The Mysterious Doctor
Between Two Worlds
Crack-Up
Desperate
Canon City
He Walked By Night
Walk A Crooked Mile
Follow Me Quietly
The Blonde Bandit
The Killer That Stalked New York
Roadblock
Pickup
Beware, My Lovely
Talk About A Stranger
Many of the above films may not fit neatly into the OP's categories. Broadly speaking, I think most are truly neglected, some of them real gems, depending on the eye of the jeweler, that is.

Carnival of Souls is my favorite B-movie, and special in that it's at once a B-movie and work of art, which makes it a paradox. Perhaps Night of the Living Dead qualifies in these terms except that Carnival of Souls is a much better work of each, B-movie and art. Any true B-movie fan must be a fan of Carnival of Souls.

That's a good point! I once told someone something similar about The Night of the Hunter. Yes, The Night of the Hunter is praised now, but back in the day it was hammered hard. The acting throughout it is akin to typical b-movie fare, so I view it as a great b-movie like Carnival of Souls. Both are better than the incredibly, overrated Night of the Living Dead!

For that matter, Psycho was hammered, yet The Night of the Hunter and Psycho are both now considered iconic films. True but comparing the solid acting/quality throughout Psycho to the questionable acting in The Night of the Hunter isn't exactly along the same line. Several reviewers through the years have noticed the poor acting/etc. from Hunter. Most reviewers through the years agree that Psycho is an all-around classic. Just because Hunter is now "iconic" shouldn't exclude it from the fact that the acting is poor and the cinematography is average. Mitchum, Winters, Gish, "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" and the art direction are what makes it what it is. The Night of the Hunter is one of my top 25 films of all time. But it's not what most people would consider a great movie to be.

"Point of terror" (1970) A local singer gets caught up with a femme fatale plus blackmail and murder. Elements of film noir and soap operas. Git it on a Horror dvd set.
The main actor Peter Carpenter had a short lived career and died in 1971.
"Bloody pit of terror" very campy but I dug it. Models go for a sexy photo shoot and encounter a depraved madman.
I'm also a sucker for pretty much anything Hammer horror or B monster/Animals attack films.
My Brain is tired. If I think of more I'll post.

I wouldn't consider it a cult film--yet--but I have to say Soldier is one of the most overlooked films ever. Easily one of my favorite sci fi films, and one of Kurt Russell's best performances ever, even though he only said like 100 words in the entire movie. Add to that the fact it's sort of a semi-sequel/sidequel to Blade Runner (Sgt. Todd was a veteran of the Tannhauser Gate and they used the same spinners in the film as in BR) and it's just an awesome film.
NOTE: Sgt. Todd was also the recipient of a few other notable awards, including the 'Plissken Patch', the 'O'Neil Ring Award', and the 'Maccready Cross', among others (references to the Escape films, Stargate, and The Thing, respectively).

Oh no, please don't call NOLD overrated...lol I know we all have our different tastes, but it was such a big moment in my childhood, it saddens me whenever I hear someone say they didn't care for it...Have a good one.

Can't believe I didn't add this one to my list (forgot about it!!): I absolutely love that movie. It is a hilarious homage to cheesy 50's sci-fi.

The Stuff (1985) Excellent creature feature with one of the all-time coolest characters, Mo Rutherford ( Michael Moriarty owned the role, cheesy B flick or not). No one else could make cowboy boots work with a suit:

Ooh, there's quite a few that I love. I've compiled a list of 52 of my favorite little known low-budget films and B-movies. In case you're interested, here it is: www.imdb.com/list/ls054808375/
