Industry estimates as of Friday night for the weekend of Nov. 17-19: 1.) Justice League (WB), 4,051 theaters / $38.4M Fri. (includes $13M previews) / 3-day cume: $93.5M / Wk 1 2.) Wonder (WB), 3,096 theaters / $9.4M Fri. (includes $740K previews) / 3-day cume: $27.3M / Wk 1 3). Thor: Ragnarok (DIS), 4,080 theaters / $5.9M Fri. (-69%) / 3-day cume: $21M (-68%) / Total cume: $246.6M / Wk 3 4.) Murder on the Orient Express (FOX), 3,354 theaters (+13)/ $4M Fri. (-63%) / 3-day cume: $14.3M (-50%)/Total: $52.2M/ Wk 2 5.) Daddy’s Home 2 (PAR), 3,575 theaters (0) / $3.9M Fri. (-64%) / 3-day cume: $13.5M (-54%)/ Total: $49.3M/Wk 2 6.)The Star (SONY), 2,837 theaters / $2.7M Fri. (studio did not report previews) / 3-day cume: $9.1M / Wk 1 7). A Bad Moms Christmas (STX), 2,948 theaters (-667) / $2.3M Fri. (-43%)/ 3-day cume: $7.3M (-36%) / Total cume: $51.3M / Wk 3 8). Lady Bird (A24), 238 theaters (+201) / $740K Fri. (-%) / 3-day cume: $2.4M (+100%)/ Per screen: $10K / Total cume: $4.6M / Wk 3 9.) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, MO (FSL), 53 theaters (+49) / $283K Fri. (+175%) / 3-day cume: $901K (+180%) / Per screen average: $17K /Total: $1.3M Wk 2 10). Jigsaw (LG), 1,201 theaters (-1,450) / $286K Fri. (-75%) / 3-day cume: $885K (-74%) / Total cume: $36.3M / Wk 4 Noteworthy: Roman J. Israel, Esq. (SONY), 4 theaters / $18K Fri. /PTA: $14K/ 3-day cume: $56K / Wk 1 Ouch. While I doubt it makes less than $600 million overall, it seems more and more likely that "Justice League" is going to come up WAY short of what it could have and should have made. Also, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is coming out next month, "Thor: Ragnarok" is holding up well, and "Coco" will come out over Thanksgiving and is getting critical acclaim, so "Justice League" has got an uphill climb. It's a shame, really. After how good "Wonder Woman" was and with some pretty solid actors in the "Justice League" cast, assembled for the first ever team-up of the Justice League, it ends up tripping up like this. Honestly, I think what we're seeing here could very well be a huge turning point for superhero entertainment, in that Marvel's former B-listers will have become A-listers and be better known and liked vs basically any DC hero besides Batman or Wonder Woman.

Weekend projections jumped a tad from the last ones, now projected to nearly make 95 million, but still way down the 110 to 120 original tracking.
WB has to be kicking themselves for this since the fan response is so glowing.

If the fan response truly is "glowing" then word of mouth will mean Justice League makes more than $110 million this weekend and then continues to do well until Star Wars is released. So there's no need for WB to be kicking themselves if the movie is actually much better than the majority of critics say it is. Lets see what happens, eh? PS. I watch a large number of movies every year and Justice League is by far the worst movie I have seen in 2017(critics were way too kind), no word of a lie. But what do I know, huh?

Deadline actually said it: On a bit of an upside, audiences seem to be enjoying Justice League more than critics’ 39% Rotten Tomatoes score: CinemaScore crowds gave Justice League a B+, the same as Suicide Squad and an improvement on BvS‘s ‘B’. CinemaScore’s audience sentiment jives with what PostTrak saw on Thursday night with a four-out-of-five star score, 85% overall positive and high 69% definite recommend. Females (42%) liked Justice League more than men (58%), giving it an A- to their B+. Under 25 (31%) gave the super friends movie an A-. Man, if they could only show up en masse now.

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if they advertise the Aquaman movie as being “From the Director of Furious 7”. They’re gonna need a good hook for that movie.

AA has been banned for a couple weeks, might give him the chance to calm down When I'm not on my phone, I'll sweep through the thread then update it. You know he probably won't come back. That would be best for the boards but no way he will be able to stay away.

But to get re-elected he needs other voters. The hardcore DC fan base will take this movie so far. I'm going tomorrow because I am a Superman fan so i am hoping Whedon who actually got Cap also gets Kal-El. But today I picked up WW. The clerk said he didn't like it. He can't get into DC. He likes Spiderman. For DC's movies to gross what the studio wants, they need to pull in the more casual viewers.

These are the numbers the studios and box office experts use to judge how the legs will shape up. Come on, you have been around for awhile and you know that. This means going the Disney route. And that is not a slight at the MCU as Disney didn't jump on til the Avengers movie. That was the first huge MCU box office movie also. I see what you're saying, i just hope they don't do that. Copying their every move only leaves two universes that aren't much different besides the name.

When Arf arf was pouting about his inevitable spanking, that he claimed was his decision, he said he wouldn't be back. I told him he or some "new" poster that was somehow magically just like him would be back as soon as possible. What else does he have in his life? It was funny to see him drop his fake passive aggressive persona and spew vitriol but I think most of his bat shit crazy posts were deleted before I got to read them. Dang it.

What DC needs is a comic book guy at the top who CARES about these characters. The problem is WB is an old school studio. Their approach is the same now as when they made movies in the 30s.

Feige got really lucky in the early years. He fought major producers from different studios. He also had his own studio. So, saying DC needs someone like him is easier said than done.

And, yeah, Marvel has shown what can be done by people who are more passionate about the characters. People willing to build the brand, not just go for the biggest payout. Not Feige.

Yes, merh, Feige wasn't alone. My point remains as they had an uphill battle as they had their own studio and had to work with studios like Universal and Paramount.
Having their own studio was a key part. This is something that someone in WB will never have, at least not anytime soon. Geoff Johns was suppose to be that guy, but if he got anywhere near the freedom he wanted I'd be shocked.
