So it was suggested to me (by more than one person surprisingly) that due to the flooding of similar topics to make the one that would cover the whole subject for simplicity. A decent idea as well considering there's already been multiple bait threads that have been made to try and stir trouble, so it'll put that at ease too.
All Box Office information and opinions, are to go in this one thread that will be stickied.

They are looking to blame someone I heard it was tracking around $130 million? WB and RT's sneaky behavior has done it's best to hide the reviews until as late as possible. Week 2 will probably have the standard massive DCEU drop off but surely the opening weekend won't be effected?

I like how they use the word "soaring" to a 110.
We all understand the difference between 110 being impressive for films like Thor and WW, but being unimpressive for films like Avengers and Justice League don't we?
A film like WW soars to 100. A film like Justice League trips and stumbles to 110.

It is hard for me to believe that people are talking as though there is a chance of JL opening that low.

It is hard for me to believe that people are talking as though there is a chance of JL opening that low. I'm amused by the good reviews because you can tell they just can't bring themselves to say it's not good. I've seen several that actually say it's 50% bad, but then say it's good overall anyway. How in the fuck is a 50% bad movie good overall? How is 50% bad remotely acceptable?
As far as the box office goes, the vibe is out there, and people were hesitant to begin with. I think most of the good reviews just sound like they just really don't want it to be a complete disaster.

Damn. Should have known better than to try this in a quick reply mode.
I saw this earlier today & found the wording strange. It almost reads like those press releases about ratings over at Zap2it.
For this to be DC's Avengers, Why are we not talking $200 mill? At least $170 to beat BvS.

They've clearly taken a step behind Marvel, and that kind of stuff doesn't just correct itself. They're about to have a entire 20 year generation of kids who have grown up thinking of Marvel as the Superhero brand, and if they don't fix this now, that's going to have a permanent effect.

They are minority owners on RT. Not to mention RT started up a new video series to rate movies. Hey, what a great way to sell that new series. And the reviews were not hid, the score was to sell that show. The reviews were still released all over the web as planned when the official embargo ended.

Defend them all you like but they are hiding the information from general audiences who are thinking about whether or not they should go to see the movie.

This is incredible if it happens.
For any of those who thought the continuously poor reviews have not impacted DC, THEY HAVE. It looks like we are likely to be saying in just three days that Thor Ragnarok beat Justice League at the box office, and that says everything that needs to be said. It's an undeniable problem with the brand and saying "but it's batman, superman, and wonder woman" doesn't work anymore. Marvel is driving and DC is in the trunk and if they don't change right now, it's over, and it's going to be over for decades. They are in serious serious risk of permanently damaging their brand.

It would be super embarrassing if it doesn't even manage to outgross MoS's opening weekend total.

It looks like we are likely to be saying in just three days that Thor Ragnarok beat Justice League at the box office, and that says everything that needs to be said. There is no "but it's batman, superman, and wonder woman" anymore. Nobody cares. It's done. It's all done. Marvel is driving and DC is in the trunk. It's over.

And this is the deepest cut. I saw this very same article earlier today and refrained from posting it with my traditional (and trademarked), Hee hee hee... The DCEU fans are in a mourning now, let's try to be respectful. If JL opens with less than TR, Ben Affleck will likely exit the franchise. He's a talented writer, director and actor and enough is enough. He can't throw away his career over to an enterprise that isn't utilizing his full creative talents or providing any upward mobility.

If this happens, wouldn't that also kind of send tremors up the chain of command then force someone out?
