Y'know at this point you're really just being an asshole by rubbing salt in the wound.

Y'know at this point you're really just being an asshole by rubbing salt in the wound. I'm sorry :-(
I got carried away
But I'm actually not doing it to rub salt, I'm sincerely excited to talk about it. This is an incredible result. If you could realize what it was like if you didn't actually care about DC, it's kind of exciting.

In all seriousness though, I'm actually excited to talk about it. I can't do it on the MCU board because it's off topic, and I can't do it here because people will get upset? So I'm just not allowed to talk about it?

The DC fanatics are bound to take issue with this article - "Oh, no, this is clearly wrong. JL only needs to make $72 worldwide to break even." etc.etc.

So it was suggested to me (by more than one person surprisingly) that due to the flooding of similar topics to make the one that would cover the whole subject for simplicity. A decent idea as well considering there's already been multiple bait threads that have been made to try and stir trouble, so it'll put that at ease too. All Box Office information and opinions, are to go in this one thread that will be stickied. Thor: Ragnarok beat Justice League's opening night, and that is so fucking awesome for Thor for Marvel for the MCU. I'm fucking excited.

"Warner Bros/DC’s Justice League opened in another 38 markets on Thursday to take the total to 47. In so doing, it added $18M, bringing the running international box office cume to $27.3M.
Not included in that total is today’s Day One China flash estimate which is $15.1M on approximately 21,000 screens and taking a 65% share of the Top 5 films. The Middle Kingdom start is WB’s 2nd biggest opening day ever behind Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and is pretty much on par with the recent release of Disney/Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. The PROC total for JL so far, including sneaks, is $16.4M. This portends a weekend in the $50M range."
So adding in that China total and the $13 million previews from Thursday in US that puts it at $55 million worldwide total.

600 million to break even is just basic math really. And we all know it will sail past that amount.
As for its legs, it is a tough call right now. The critics are mixed, but the fans are enjoying it. So, the cinemascore will be a good sign of its multiplier.
I would hate to see Affleck go, as most agree he turned out to be a great Batman, but he has a bright future as a director, writer and actor. Making the change will be tough, but if Bond can do it every decade, comic book movies should be able to as well.

Leave your basement every once and awhile and you won't act like a complete douche. At least I hope so.

Leave your basement every once and awhile and you won't act like a complete douche. At least I hope so. I travel for a living. I think I've been to every major city in the states, and hundreds of small ones. Can you say you've been to every NFL stadium? Have you been to Yosemite? Grand Canyon? Hawaii? Vegas? Manhatton? Disney World? Disney Land? Jamaica? Cosumel? Hiked the Appalachian trail? Canoed for three weeks in the Canadian boundry waters with Minnesota catching fish? This is an interest of mine that I update in airports and starbucks. Don't be that guy who makes meaningless insults.

Let's be transparent about what's happening and not try to bury this in another thread.

It will be buried in another thread. It wouldn't have needed to have been but you've become a little too over excited with the baiting which has now made it a necessity.

Alright, I'll bite. Explain. I'll honestly consider what you have to say...

"It’s still early and right now Justice League‘s Friday, including its $13M last night, is between $36.6M-$38.5M. At the top end, that’s $300K higher than Wonder Woman’s Friday and she was boosted by an $11M Thursday night. This puts Justice League around $97M+ per industry estimates, far lower than the $110M-$120M on tracking. Some analysts are seeing lower because Justice League‘s morning sales weren’t as robust as many expected."

The league isn't going to outdo wonder woman it doesn't look like, and the fat lady is warming up for it to get completely hammered by Thor.
With a 300 million dollar budget plus reshoots, this is looking to have the makings of a disaster.
