This is incredible if it happens.
For any of those who thought the continuously poor reviews have not impacted DC, THIS IS THE PROOF. It looks like we are likely to be saying in just three days that Thor Ragnarok beat Justice League at the box office, and that says everything that needs to be said. There is no "but it's batman, superman, and wonder woman" anymore. Nobody cares. It's done. It's all done. Marvel is driving and DC is in the trunk. It's over.

And this is the deepest cut. I saw this very same article earlier today and refrained from posting it with my traditional (and trademarked), Hee hee hee... The DCEU fans are in a mourning now, let's try to be respectful. If JL opens with less than TR, Ben Affleck will likely exit the franchise. He's a talented writer, director and actor and enough is enough. He can't throw away his career over to an enterprise that isn't utilizing his full creative talents or providing any upward mobility. I get not turning the screws, but this is big news. I know some people don't like it, but it's worthy of discussion for sure. I mean just imagine 8 years ago saying the third Thor film would outgross the first ever Justice League movie.

I would accuse you of being a sadist but, this is just rubbernecking, and I get that. Eventually we'll have to drive on by but, for now, you can't turn away. The DCEUs suffering is legendary. So much so that I will bet my Tommy gun that the next attempt at a shared universe featuring DC characters will be nothing short of a masterwork for the ages. No one could make this many mistakes and not learn from them.

Your title is misleading. It implies that TR is expected to be number one for the weekend when that isn’t the case.

It would be super embarrassing if it doesn't even manage to outgross MoS's opening weekend total. This is absolutely surreal. It is hard to name a bigger cinematic disaster than the DCEU. Dark Universe?

Your title is misleading. It implies that TR is expected to be number one for the weekend when that isn’t the case. Does it really matter? I mean Thor 3 realistically and even likely might be about to beat the first ever Justice League in a head to head opening weekend vs opening weekend. This is a true victory for Thor and true indictment of DC.

Looks like Wonder Woman was a false hope.

Well you do realise that Batman vs Superman benefitted with it's Thursday previews due to the Good Friday holiday weekend right?
What with Batman vs Superman previews being $28 million and then the OW being only 5.9x that amount.
Whereas the previews for this are $11-12 million but they're saying the OW will be about 10x that amount.

Where does it say it flopped? It depends on how you define flop, but that's 3.5 mil short of Thor. I mean,,,,,,,,,

I think it's hilarious how that article keeps using works like "flying to 110 million" as though that's a good result for this type of a film.

Where does it say it flopped? I love Thor, am a huge Thor fangirl, but I know he is not loved by all. Even adding Hulk for a filmmatic version of Marvel Team Up Featuring Thor and Hulk, another popular hero but who manages to see his book cancelled regularly & whose last solo effort didn't exactly burn up the box office, we are not talking Avengers team up might. So I know full well if the DC version of The Avengers comes in around Thor, it is a failure. Of course I would LOVE for Thor to beat JL, but it SHOULDN'T even be close. JL should be looking at a $200 mill opening. Aww. My Thor expects his kitty treats. Such a demanding little god

ArArArchStanton Yeah but Thor was hugely successful. merhIt shouldn't be close but I knew from the start that this wasn't going to be as big as Batman vs Superman never mind being any comparison whatsoever to any Avengers movie.
