"...calling him a ‘hypocrite preaching feminist ideals.’ It’s said that Warner Bros didn’t want this sort of negativity connected to their movies."

I feel this is due more to the BO failure of JL, even though it wasn't his fault.

Well, WB, you've just shot yourself in the foot. Again. Have fun having one less talented filmmaker working for you.

Jeez, I wonder what further allegations are coming from an reputational angle. I am kind of relieved tbh. Whedon directing Batgirl was a wild card artistically speaking. His infamous & borderline sexist Wonder Woman script is not forgotten. Neither should be that his 3-camera TV cinematography and lightning (recently to be admired in JL) are not too sophisticated. And his jokes got old long ago.
Artistically, he should do things outside of comic book movies.

Instead of a random Reddit user, Warner should just have a press conference confirming and denying every rumor circulating the production of their upcoming slate of DC movies. It would save them a lot of trouble to do so.

"...calling him a ‘hypocrite preaching feminist ideals.’ It’s said that Warner Bros didn’t want this sort of negativity connected to their movies." Don't really see how cheating on your spouse has anything to do with feminism, considering that women do it almost as often as men do.

This is likely being done because Joss broke ranks with the 'party' over Steppenwolf on twitter and because it would look bad at this point if a man directs the Batgirl movie. Not to mention that he's also a douchebag. This is a good thing for the DCEU. They should get a first or second time female director for the project.

Okay this is too much! Who fucking cares what he does with consenting adults! The other cases are harassment against people who are not consenting, and in some cases not adults. But THIS is different. For me this is the tipping point. Its one thing to take action against people who abuse others, but what happens between a married couple is THEIR business. If cheating is a firing offense then EVERYONE at the studio can probably be fired. I mean WTF?

Honestly...... I think they're just using their talents personal issues to push what they want from from them or at least scapegoats.

I had no urge to see this anyway, but I feel bad for anyone that did.
The movie probably won't happen at all if his firing is true.

Joss Whedon is pretty much my favorite director, and I would have seen this movie with him.....but yes, absolutely he should have been fired. The mentality that you display here is exactly the problem society needs to tackle. Everything that's going on is not just solely about the sexual harassment issues. It's the depravity and the whole sexual obsession that has created the breeding ground for the harassment and the assault. Until society realizes that it helped create all this, nothing will get better. This is the opportunity for society to maybe start a new page and realize what it was doing wrong. If people like you push back against that and called it "ridiculously out of hand," then there will be no progression.

Except harassment and assault is not synonymous and not even correlated to infidelity. One is sexual actions taken against an unwilling person, the other is sexual action done with a willing adult. One is an act that goes against work/job regulations, the other has absolutely nothing to do with your job or work. Now, no one is saying that cheating is ethically or morally correct, we're saying your company/work has nothing to do with it and is completely out of line to fire you for it.
