Problem is, this keeps happening. Ragnarok was seen as the inferior film up against JL until it actually came out, and Homecoming had some bad buzz before it debuted too. Even after all their success, the MCU still gets the stink eye. Well naturally people would see it like that. It was still expected to make a similar amount of money as Justice League though. Its not as though it was expected to make considerably less. I didn't really see any bad buzz for Spider-man Homecoming. The reception to the trailers was overwhelmingly positive. This one trailer I'm looking at has 115k likes to a mere 4k dislikes. The MCU isn't perfect so there's always going to be those who have some issues with things. It WAS expected to make less, and it was expected to get a substandard score as well from critics. People were tearing into the movie from the first teaser trailer saying it was too colorful and silly and not "grounded" enough (like Thor is a grounded character). Homecoming was getting negativity too. Fans of the Sony Spidey movies (ASM and Raimi) were complaining that Holland was too young, that May was too young, that Jameson wasn't in it, that they weren't doing the Goblin again, that Peter didn't look dirt poor, that the characters weren't all white, etc. Compare this to how after Dark Knight, TDKR was getting absolutely nothing but praise in the lead-up and how every expect it to be utter perfect and there wasn't one single naysayer.

Such as who in particular? Here alone, we got colden/charzino/tristan/poelzig/DC-Fan. Off the top of my head. On the old forums we had Question07 and Wormhole. On top of that, you have to remember everyone who kept saying that the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie would bomb and destroy the MCU. Every single person who thought that also are the ones who hate that MCU is making other characters acceptable and enjoyable. Just named them. Yet most if not all of the posters you listed have said they have watched and enjoyed at least some mcu movies. Myself included. I've never read a post from any of the posters you listed that said "every marvel character other than spider man or the x-men are B listers" In fact the B lister tag for mcu characters seems to have started with the mcu klan who use it as a childish insult as in "Our B List characters are beating Justice League HOORAY!!!" Also show me posts where anyone on your list of obviously innocent posters have said "They're outright OFFENDED that Marvel has dared to try and raise the profile of any of them and see it an insulting that there are people who enjoy stories about them." You can't because all those scary mcu hating monsters you guys use to try and justify all the vitriol you spew are not real.

Yet most if not all of the posters you listed have said they have watched and enjoyed at least some mcu movies. No they haven't. Right, they called them C-Listers or D-Listers unworthy of any recognition. Colden will be happy to help. As will DC-Fan.

You and your mcu pals are the ones claiming everyone is out to get the mcu and as of yet none of you have provided a shred of evidence. Instead you keep saying all your trolling and hatred and impotent rage is due to some meanies who were on some board on some site that may have liked other movies better than than they like the mcu. Time to provide some proof or stop using phantom bullies to "justify" why y'all are so malicious and obsessed.

No, Wonder Woman is more well-known than Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. The Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor movies only appealed to kids, mostly boys. The Wonder Woman movie is the 1st superhero move to draw in large numbers of women and older viewers so Wonder Woman is more well-known to the general public than Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Halloween was less than a month ago and the most popular Halloween costume was Wonder Woman. Superhero movies appeal to everyone, not just kids. That's why they make the most money out of any other type of movie in Hollywood. Kids saw Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Wonder Woman. The most popular Halloween costume among girls in my neighborhood was Ret from Star Wars. This Year's Most Popular Halloween Costumes
Halloween trick-or-treaters and partygoers can expect to see a slew of Wonder Woman costumes — the year’s most popular costume

So WB exploited her movie's success to sell costumes. Wow, how progressive.

Superhero movies appeal to everyone, not just kids. Not MCU movies. The viewers for MCU movies are always largest percentage is kids and mostly boys. Wonder Woman is the 1st superhero movie where the viewers were a majority of women (52% females vs 48% males) and Wonder Woman is also the 1st superhero movie to draw in a large percentage of older viewers. So where do you get the 52/48% split? Is that from when the figure was quoted in the Hollywood Reporter? Because that relates to the opening weekend only. I'm not saying WW did not have a larger female audience, but it would help if you would provide sources in the future to give some context. You've been caught out mis-understanding or mis-representing figures before.

So WB exploited her movie's success to sell costumes. Wow, how progressive. DC-Fan claims that WW appeals to mature audiences and MCU movies are for kids. Then he boasts about how popular WW is among trick-or-treaters. Just wind him up and watch DC-Fanboy self destruct. Every time.

And Ant-Man is pretty much better than all of Snyder's directed DCEU movies in every way.

Maybe you and charzino have said you've enjoyed some MCU films, but I can't say that about the others. How many times does Tristan always calls Guardians 2 "raccoon turds" or DC-Fan calling Homecoming "the worst Spider-Man adaptation ever"? Even charzino pretty much says X-Men fans are smart, and MCU fans are idiots. He doesn't actually say that, but he's not good at hiding on how he actually feels. DC-Fan just doesn't like the MCU. Look at his unbiased list. He rates every single MCU movie 1/10. Of course, it's okay to have different opinions.

Forget it, merh. Scabby's already made up his mind that any grievances the MCU fandom has are just wrong and the DCEU fans are just perfect little angels. Sadly it's part of the problem for WB. They see their heroes are iconic so they believe they are all that. If they make a superman film, people will come. Same for Bats. They don't want to do the groundwork. WW was an ORIGIN story. I'm hoping Aquaman works. Maybe WB will see they need to do the leg work, let people get to know these people. Marvel is at the other end. The haters are looking for that first bomb. Critics are often the definition of -those who can't do a thing teach it. I noticed it in the 80s a lot of music critics would mention their bands which never got out if the garage

You'd think Ironman 3 outdoing Man of Steel and Thor: The Dark World only kinda making a bit less than it would have taught them. Sad thing is, Justice League arrived four years into the DCEU, the same number of years Avengers came out after Ironman. There is no reason they couldn't have all the groundwork done NOW. And there should have been no Suicide Squad movie this early in the game. The films that should be out are an MoS sequel, a Batman movie, a Wonder Woman movie, an Aquaman movie, and a Flash movie. I have no worries about Aquaman, myself. And that is truly pathetic of them. Heh!

See, the problem is that WB has guys who laugh at the idea of taking lower tier characters and treating them with respect. Snyder thinking it's silly that Thor and Ant-Man get films. They only think their A-Listers like Batman and Superman can make money. Look at how long it took them to make a WW movie.
Marvel Studios however, are deprived of their A-Listers so they decided to treat their remaining characters respectfully and make them A-Listers.
That's the difference, the guys at WB have no balls.

The $$ in their eyes blind them to the fact even if the character is a known entity, seeing this particular incarnation breeds sympathy. We learn to like the character as presented by the actor & the company's/director's vision for the character. We KNOW Spidey. Homecoming gave us Holland's version. The small preview in Civil War gave us a taste, but also furthered Stark's personality that he would put a child at risk to win. This showed Cap's superiority as a leader Hawkeye in Thor showed us he was somewhat of an individual with a wry sense of humor, liking Thor for his fighting skill. We learned in IM2 Widow was an exceptionally skilled fighter who knew how to keep secrets We saw Flash in SS so technically maybe he didn't need an origin movie. Granted SS was a mess. That one needed a couple origin movies, then SS would have used the main ones we had already met. The Joker & Harley bits were distracting enough we should have seen at least Joker as the villain in a Batman film or them together in their own film. The Batman line makes sense because it would have ended with Joker captured, putting Harley in his path.

I've always found this whole thing of Marvel's "B- and C-List heroes fascinating. I'm not a comic book fan (I don't mean that in a condescending way, I just never read them), but when Iron Man, Thor, & CA were released I knew who all three of them were, and had for quite a long time. I had no idea that they were considered lower-echelon heroes, and to be honest when the X-Men movies started being released I'd never fucking heard of them prior to that...and that along with Spidey is considered Marvel's A-List. So as a non-comic book fan who really jumped onto the MCU quickly, this aspect of everything just confounds me.

So as a non-comic book fan who really jumped onto the MCU quickly, this aspect of everything just confounds me. Spider man has been top dog at Marvel forever. The X-Men became a thing in the 70s with Byrne's art. I like who I like. Spidey. Ka-zar. Dr.Strange. Defenders. Ghost Rider. Thor. Captain America. Avengers. Angel. I hated when some hot shot artist hit my titles. I had to buy the current issue of Thor at twice cover because the shop owner claimed he sold out his current stock number. (Beta Ray Bill.) I paid $20 for Ghost Rider #1 & $25 for #21 because Byrne drew it. The shop owner kept trying to get me to buy X-Men as an investment. My titles would never be worth anything. The FF were another team I never cared much for as an adult. I remember a cartoon with them when I was a child. Johnny was dating Crystal of The Inhumans. The heroes I liked all saw their titles slowed (bimonthly) or cancelled. Spidey had 4 titles when I was collecting books. Hulk had his fans, but the comics didn't always sell well
