I remember seeing Luke's distinctive green second saber in the flashbacks. Kylo had the blue one, right?

Well if it was the blue saber that answers why Kylo said it was his, and it puts the finding of the saber well before Maz had it in her castle. Will the box still be empty in the end? Sadly that's possible, maybe even likely. I completely missed that until the image flashed in my head for some odd reason. I wonder what else isn't quite obvious in the story but there?

Yes, Kylo's saber was blue.
I still think it's silly that Vader's old blue saber was recovered from Cloud City though.

How does that work when in TFA's flashback of Kylo and his buddies antics that night he had his "cool" red blade? Or is that going too far beyond the level of thinking about previous events that TLJ taught us we should be doing? (i.e. none)

She then flew through space and delivered it to Maz's castle. As George Lucas once said "...and Mary Poppins Leia is the whole key to this."

(i.e. none) I had the same thought and alluded to it in another post as a current plot hole. However, the writers have a chance to weasel it back in. Conventional logic was that the rainy KOR vision scene was the attack on the temple. That now seems unlikely given the fact that Kylo was in his Kylo suit in the vision, also wielding his Kylo blade as you've pointed out. Per the story in TLJ, I doubt he had either the suit or the red saber at the time of the attack. So perhaps it's a scene from Ep. IX. But nah, it'll just be discarded.

Kylo didn't have the outfit then either. I don't think it was storming?? Was it? Will we ever freakin know??

Ha ha, good on you guys - at least you still have the heart to try and speculate if this could still make sense / be fixed in future... I just can't bring myself to do that anymore - spent hours on the old imdb discussing those flashback scenes but the truth is there was obviously nothing ever behind them, no plot, no continuity - just there to look "cool"...
Actually I'm thankful to Rogue One for completely killing my expectations a year before we reached Episode VIII - Rian Johnson has made that look like chicken feed by failing to match the storyline of film from just two years earlier π

Mary Poppins Leia's invisible Force umbrella should've expanded and protected Ackbar. But it never happened. We didn't even get a cameo of Ackbar's body floating in space! Ackbar will avenge this insult by becoming his own Force ghost!

I guess you just hate good Star Wars movies. "Too"? I don't hate TLJ, as I said before I had no expectations from it at all, so just watched it as a popcorn flick which was never going to even try and fit in with any story arcs.In that respect I thought it was ok. And the reason I got to that stage was that Rogue One was a complete f**king joke - literally the only thing it really had to show was the plans being beamed to the Tantive IV and they couldn't even do that π And why? Because the film was going along as boringly as they obviously suspected when they booted the original director to shoehorn an idiotic "cool" Vader scene which made no sense when married up against the beginning of ANH. Once you saw they couldn't even do that film properly, it became quite apparent that speculating over what might happen in TLJ based upon what was / wasn't presented in TFA would be an utter waste of time...

Does someone have a still of the scene?

What if the Blue saber Kylo has in the scene with Luke (both Luke's version, and Kylo version of events scenes) is not Anakin's lightsaber? Bear with me for a sec- what if, because Ben was still in training and the lightsaber was known to have been recovered, Luke and Leia had intended to gift it to Ben upon the completion of his training? So Luke made a blue lightsaber for Ben, perhaps he made blue ones for all his students, and had a green one for himself. Then it works for everything. When Ben becomes Kylo, Leia could have had a fit of her own and thrown the lightsaber away (anger at her son, herself, her brother, her father, etc. getting the better of her), then Han took it to Maz- or Leia herself took it there, maybe even Luke did, because they all knew Maz was Force-sensative/willing to help/a safe place to hide such an item/whathaveyou. It also explains Kylo's intense "that belongs to me", because he considers that he has completed his training and is the heir to Anakin, so he ought to be able to have that lightsaber [although a funny attachment, given his desire to kill the past. But he's Krybaby Ren, so his logic isn't always sound just as his mind isn't.], as well as why he thinks it is generally owed to him.
So Leia/someone could have given the Skywalker lightsaber to Maz to keep it away from Kylo, Kylo could have left with his training saber that happened to be blue and that's the one Ben/Kylo used on his fellow students (I want to know if any of those dudes in red were Luke's former students?) before taking off to be with Snoke. As for what we saw in TFA with Kylo with his red lightsaber, in the rain, with dead bodies and the Knights of Ren- that might have been a seperate incident (Luke might not have been the only one training a few fledgling Jedilings, it could have been a random village of Force-sensative people, maybe it was Rey's original home?) that happened days/weeks/months/years later - or it could even be something that has not yet come to pass, as Kylo might re-don his helmet, gather his Knights of Ren, and try to take on Rey and the nuRebels in the next movie, and it happens on a rainy day.
