With each new subpar Star Wars film, the brand loses value. Less earning potential. I expected more from TLJ than $1.2 billion. More like $1.4 and up. My thoughts exactly. I predict by the third Subpar Star Wars film, the brand could be damaged permanently and may be in need of a reboot. |

I have heard similar happenings about Rogue One. I haven't look into it too deeply, but how I understand it is that Star Wars never really gained a foothold in China like it did in other overseas territories like Europe or Japan. Therefore, the basics of the universe was not well known, which caused the lack in interest in the new films.
While this is certainly a problem for Disney, there is no way it is going to kill the franchise. Least not anytime soon. The series has a strong fan base and is well established in much of the rest of the world. It will still be profitable for years to come.

Disney is finished. Forget that all their movies are wildly successful, they are done. Cancel the MCU. Cancel Star Wars. Movies that make over a billion are worthless. We need more Batman vs. Superman movies.
