............."Lady Bird" and "Get Out" will provide Oscar voters wishing to push the feminazi/SJW agenda with more viable alternatives to "Wonder Woman"? I think that complaints that Wonder Woman hasn't had any nominations in certain awards is ridiculous. I've always said that if those that nominate decide to have a "conscience" and bow down to tokenism it won't be Wonder Woman that benefits because there have been better films directed by women recently...despite a smaller number of female directors out there there have been quite a few well reviewed/received films directed by women in 2017. But the fact is that any nomination should be based on merit and nothing else. Is Wonder Woman one of the 10 best films of 2017...personally I don't think so. Some may argue that it has changed things, is a groundbreaking or is some sort of phenomena...well in the USA it might have been, and one or two other countries, but the truth is most of the world saw it as nothing more than another CBM movie. Was Patty Jenkins one of the 5 best directors in 2017...I don't think so. The complaints that certain other awards have not voted WW is laughable. I have no problem with equality, but calls for at least one female director to be recognised is not that. You should only nominate for what was on screen...that there are not many female directors is another issue entirely. Sort out the oppurtunities given to women, but vote/recognise the end product that is out there on its own merits regardles of the age, sex, colour or experience of those that made it. And on the subject of Get Out. Why is it any film that involves race, sexism and sexuality is accused of being part of an SJW agenda. These things exist so why not make a film about them...why does there have to be an agenda behind it. You never see any films accused of pushing a white middle-class agenda. Get Out was a decent little horror/thriller where the catalyst for the story is race, and that is what made it interesting and different (far more than if the victims were young jocks rather than black guys). Some of the backlash toward the film has been ridiculous/laughable. If people don't like the film because they thought it was not very good fair enough, but don't hate because of some non-existent "SJW Agenda" bullshit.

It would have been nearly forgotten by now. People would be like - "Remember "Get Out"? That was really good. Why don't movies like that ever get awards consideration?" - "Yeah, I enjoyed it too. It was released way too early in the year to get any Oscar buzz though." "Raw" won't be receiving nominations in any of the main categories.

Another opinion of mine would be that no CBM movie will be nominated this year, and quality-wise if they finally choose one it should be Logan

Wonder Woman for instance Or Thor Ragnarok, but at least sometimes i might watch those again.Get out is just painfully unremarkable. But of course, i only speak for myself, i don't really know why others hate it

For some reason having fun at the movies is seen as a crime against humanity n some parts. Go figure?!

Maybe, but we'll never know Ironically, "Raw" is written and directed by a woman. I doubt a foreign language film about cannibalism had a snowflakes chance in hell to get nominated. Perrhap in best foreign language film, but it is up to that film's country of origin's academy to nominate it for consideration, and I believe it's only one film per country.

It's hated because it received stellar reviews while being a decent film. There are a lot of films you could say that about, but they don't get the hate. Wonder Woman for instance I think people reading a large number of reviews before they watch the movie is a reason there are problems with "backlash." A lot of reviewers can't seem to help themselves when it comes to jumping all over the jock of some movies and it usually creates unreasonable levels of expectation for the audience.

As the humor didn't work for me, it kinda bored me. I'm not saying it's a bad movie, it's just a movie that didn't work for me

I'm rooting for Get Out. It's a film that really triggered the Alt right assholes and it would be a perfect middle finger to the Nazis and white nationalist.

I wouldn't have a problem with it winning. It is more entertaining than a lot of the forgettable Oscar bait that usually wins best picture. Come to think of it, so are 3 Billboards and "The Shape of Water." The academy are going to have to make an extra special effort this year to find a movie nobody wants to watch and that will be forgotten about in 6 weeks - "Lady Bird" sounds perfect!
