We've had 5 movies at this point and we still don't have a villain that's even half as good as Marvel's worst.

You sir... are absolutely correct. I just think it's funny that people will give the MCU crap for their "villain problem," but won't acknowledge that DC constantly f**** up in this area.

Nah Zod was better than the majority of the MCU villains easily.

Nah Zod was better than the majority of the MCU villains easily. Beh, all he had going for him was Shannon hamming it up. Other than that, being a "programmed" being meant that he had no character.

At least with Zod he had some presence, impact, personality and backstory. It was an actual worthwhile villain to the movie. He wasn't just a compulsory forgettable object that stands in the way of the hero.

The majority of villains in the DCEU and MCU movies have been boring and forgettable with a few exceptions so far to say the least. The TV shows and animated movies have done a far better job of handling villains than the Live Action movies have and William Shatner as Two Face was more entertaining than any villain in 2017 and there has never been another villain on screen more hated than Felicity Smoak.

Well, I’m the loony who really liked Eisenberg’s take on the Lex Luthor character, so I’ll just whistle on by here… *whistling fades off into the distance*

Zod was actually quite good IMO.

everybody agrees the CMB villains in the last decade were all terribly weak. Only Zod in MoS is the candidate that may remotely reach old Joker and Magneto standards. He easily wins the price.
Also, Ares was a good concept- and mystery-villain as not seen in this genre before: Having WW fight war itself and then war being incorporated by an ally instead of the enemy was a neat, fresh idea, completely lacking in this genre. Thus, the accolades and awards.
QED.

But I agree, while I did not care too much about the performance, this villain had some of the best philosophical lines and most sinister scenes.

Superman is probably the best villain in the DCEU. He showed Zod what REAL destruction looks like.

Nah Zod was better than the majority of the MCU villains easily. In all fairness, Zod was about as good as the mediocre villains of Marvel. Not as bad as guys like Malekith or Kaecillius but nowhere near Loki or Vulture and not even as memorable as Hela or Ego. I'd put Zod in the same bracket as guys like Killian and Pierce. Well acted, decent portrayal, but ultimately forgettable. That said, outside of Zod the rest of the DCEU villains are all either on the same bar as the worst MCU villains or even lower.

Obvious OP-trolling like a 5 year old is obvious. The best villain in both DC and MCU was General Zod, in writing and acting. There is not even a question about that.

Zod is the DCEUs only good villain, but this statement is very debatable. Shannon is a great actor, which is why he is considered, but there was not much special about him beyond that. However, MCU does not have great villains either. We have yet to see a truly iconic villain in either movie franchise. I am hoping that Thanos is great. I did like Vulture and Loki, but Loki is tough to consider a villain anymore. In all honesty, Red Skull was cool in his short screen time. I put him on the same level as Zod.
