I’m not sure that it’s quite “unsolved,” as John Dickson Carr’s solution is fairly well-accepted as the accurate one, but the murder of Sir Edmund Berry Godfrey in 1678 and resulting “Popish Plot” are fascinating, and I’m shocked no one has made a film adaptation.
EDIT: May I also add a remark about how great Charles II was? A masterly politician, a true gentleman, and a merry monarch—not a saint, by any means, but that just makes him all the more amusing. Far more intelligent than his contemporaries gave him credit for.

I just read about that fascinating as well.

area 51
famous places that are haunted by famous people ... who, why, what they do...
the woman in my building -- years before I moved here -- was murdered on our roof. she would have parties and would invite schubs off the street. signs posted round the neighborhood 'come one, come all' and would have them on the roof of our adjoining buildings. then she pissed someone off. she came home late -- like 1am and was followed by these schlubs who put a gun to her back and forced her up to the roof. then she started running back and forth and screaming. then they shot her. we no longer are allowed up on the roof.
jon benet I think her brother did it... 'what did you do?'
etan patz
