The Black Siren has been a massive debacle and I think there's only one way this arc can end.

Jesus Christ! I feel so inadequate. I write a measly one sentence message and you reply with a massive text with paragraphs and links and different colored text. You are the Mistress of the Arrow Board and I am your humble servant. Heehee. Awww. Thank you Josh but you are a big contributor to the 'Arrow' board too and the board wouldn't be the same without you. In fact, I don't know if this board would still be up if it wasn't for you since you have built this up as much as I have and you are far from being inadequate to me and other members.

If the Black Canary is in 'Birds of Prey' like I am pretty sure she will be I don't see her returning next season 'cause of how many characters they have written off this show 'cause they were going to be in the movies. I mean don't forget Harley Quinn was meant to be in 'Arrow' but they blocked them from using her after a short cameo where we didn't really see her 'cause they decided they were making 'Suicide Squad.'

There was a lot of hype about Harley being on Arrrw, and all we got to see was the back of her f--king head.
I don't know what to make of the Black Siren arc. And I don't know how I'll feel if she does get redeemed. It just feels weird. Sometimes it seems like the writers are just making it up as they go along, the storyline changing dependent on how fans react.

I think the writers come in early, and don't go home until they've made bad decisions.

I remember the hype for Harley Quinn being on 'Arrow' and I was really looking forward to seeing what they did with her character 'cause we haven't had anybody quite like that on 'Arrow' before. They had a chance to use a really crazy type of character with Cupid but they failed with her and Cupid in the 'Green Arrow' comic books is very different than the Cupid we got on the show. If I remember correctly Tara Strong who plays Harley Quinn in three of the Arkham games and a number of animated adaptions was going to play Harley Quinn in 'Arrow' and I would have liked to have seen that 'cause I think she could pull the role off in live action. There are some pictures of her below as Harley and she has the right look for the character too. Harley was being talked about around the same time as Nightwing was and I think Warner Bros blocked them from using both of them. There was also talk of Green Lantern being in 'Arrow' too and Diggle becoming a Green Lantern but I think it was only rumours. However, in a recent interview last year Marc said Green Lantern wasn't off the table but there were no plans to use any of the characters at the time.
The 'Black Siren' arc is confusing and I am not sure where they are going with it either but if Black Canary leaves I think they will turn make Black Siren good and she will join the team 'cause then there won't be two characters with the same abilities.

I was really disappointed with what they did with Harley, and to this day I can't understand Warner Brothers' policy about using heroes in movies and TV. They let the CW use Flash and Superman but can't use Deadshot and Harley Quinn. And that Diggle as GL, I'm glad it was only a rumor. I think he would've been a worse GL than Ryan Reynolds.

I was going to say something but then I got distracted and forgot my point. Yeah. Tara is very distracting. I am surprised she hasn't done more live action roles and is mostly known for her voice work. Did you know she played Sabrina's friend in 'Sabrina Goes to Rome' and 'Sabrina Down Under?' She is barely recognisable in those movies and I couldn't believe it was the same person.

That is one of the main problems I have with DC and Warner Bros in general. I don't understand why they can't have a superhero or villain in a TV show if they are appearing in a movie and why certain characters like the Flash, Nightwing, Superman and possibly the Black Canary (if she doesn't leave at the end of the season) can have both while Deadshot, Deathstroke, Katana, Amanda Waller and others had to be written out of the shows. It sounds like they had a lot of plans for Deathstroke on 'Arrow' too so I am disappointed we didn't get to see those and how the character would have played into this season with Oliver going against Ricardo Diaz. It makes me wonder if Deathstroke was supposed to be teaming with Oliver to fight him and 'cause Warner Bros stopped them from using him those scenes had to be deleted. This apparently goes back a number of years though and 'Superman 3' wasn't allowed to use Braniac and had to settle for some giant evil computer and 'Lois and Clark' couldn't use a lot of Superman's villains and had to have a Lord Noir instead of General Zod and create their own villains like Tempus. The shows would be so much better without blocks.

To be fair, Tempus was one of my favorite villain on that show.

The thing I never got is why make such blanket bans, I get it if you don't want the same characters on different shows or movies at the exact same trime but then just make it clear ok CW you cannot use Ra's Al Gul at all from November to febuary because Gotham has him then, Supergirl you cant use Superman the same time because of JL, so fans of those characters if they want to see them need to watch those specific brands at that time.
I mean in this day and age at any point we have access to how many iterations of Superman via movies, TV, cartoons or animated films, if we can differentiate Wellings version from Cains from Reeves and so on why couldn't we differentiate TV Deathstroke from movie Deathstroke?

I think Warner Bros vastly underestimates the intelligence of their viewers, thinking we'll get confused if different iterations of a character appears across multiple shows and movies.

To be fair, Tempus was one of my favorite villain on that show. Yeah. I liked Tempus too and would have liked him to have appeared on an episode of 'Smallville' with the same actor and even now I wouldn't mind a Tempus appearance on 'Supergirl' or 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' with HG Wells but I was just saying how silly it was that Warner Bros blocked the writers from using so many villains and they had to come up with their own when Superman has so many villains that could have been great in that show had they been allowed to use them. I mean what was the point of blocking the likes of Atomic Skull, Parasite and the Eradicator? It wasn't like they were using them in anything else.

It is completely dumb and looking back at 'Smallville' there is no reason why they shouldn't have been able to use Wonder Woman like with Batman they had 'The Dark Knight' movies going at the time but Wonder Woman hadn't been on screen in decades and still Warner Bros preventing them from using the character when they could have had an awesome version of her on the show. I am starting to think with Deathstroke the reason 'Arrow' might have been blocked from using the character is 'cause they were going in the direction of him as a reformed villain who was friends with Oliver and wanting to make up for the bad things he did when he was under the control of the Mirocude drug and the version they are using in the movies is a fully fledged villain and they didn't want Deathstroke being used as good and bad at the same time. Same as Deadshot who looked to be turning face before he was killed off.

Well during production of Smallville they had a Wonder Woman film in development, which is why she wasn't used on the show. They have used her (and Batman) in the season 12 comics though.

Yeah, they did but they were saying they had a 'Wonder Woman' movie in development for years before they made it and I remember back in the late 80s/ early 90s they were talking about one and Lynda Carter said she was open to playing Wonder Woman again and I feel they missed out on an opportunity not making it back then and a Lynda Carter/Wonder Woman movie would have been a bigger hit than 'Supergirl' in the 80s when the show was beating a lot of other shows with reruns. I think the writers of 'Smallville' could have done Diana justice and the heads of Warner Bros really screwed over a lot of Wonder Woman fans by not allowing people to use the character for so many years.

Yep. Agree with you 100%. I would have loved to have a Lynda Carter movie, instead of WB dragging their feet for decades, and keeping her from appearing in Smallville.

The sad thing was they waited so many decades to make a 'Wonder Woman' movie Lynda Carter was too old to play her again by the time they were ready and we could have had a 'Superman/ Wonder Woman' team up movie in the 80s that could have been far better than 'Superman 3 or 4' and even thrown in Adam West as Batman. I know a lot of people who would have liked to have seen that.

Well Warner Bros has made a lot of mistakes with DC superheroes but we can't blame them for Superman III and Superman IV. Warner Bros didn't have the film rights to Superman, the Salkinds did. After Superman III they sold the rights to Canon Films, who made Superman IV..
