They're taking a cosmic storyline and 'grounding' it because they're too incompetent to do otherwise.
Nice to see some things never change.
They aren't shaking up crap, they're just doing what FoX-Men's been doing for 18 years. Which is why they've been left in the dust and why they'll be going the way of the Dodo soon.

I don't know how to say this so I'll just say it outright: the X-men movies are Marvel movies. So when he says "...all the Marvel movies...", he is talking about the X-men movies, also.
Try again, sir or madam.

Try again, sir or madam. I dont get the feeling hes using Marvel as a generalized word for all Marvel properties, I think He would have said the comic book genre instead or something similar. I think he was alluding to the fact that films like Deadpool and Logan have revitalized the genre in the face of predictable MCU movies that keep the same tone.

Funny since Fox has been telling the doing the same X-Men storyline for years. Magneto teams up with the X-Men until he double crosses them.

With all the hype that Dark Phoenix been generated by the cast and crew, it better fucking deliver!
Seriously the last groundbreaking CBM we had was made by Chris Nolan. So they better have step up their game!

You want all the hate to go toward the MCU. Why would he say the comic book genre when he's talking about Marvel movies? He'd say comic book movies if he meant DC, also. Hell he could be talking about DC because he does say "those universes". Revitalized... heh. The X-men movies didn't do all that well until DoFP. Or I guess that's all you see. Your head is so far up Fox and Singer's butt that you didn't realize that the genre was doing well when it came to Spider-man and Batman. The MCU just kept it going on that side of the map. But I guess Sheridan (who was just in a movie about a future world ran by VR) can try and sell the grounded approach because we are dealing with a 1st time director who doesn't have the expertise to work on this type of movie without cutting corners. So grounded... heh. Also, tone. The X-men movies kept the same tone since the 1st movie. That was Singer's excuse for not changing how these movies are made and who was driving the movies.

It's a crazy new world.

It better fucking deliver! Then you have them pushing the movie back with reshoots. I don't know what to think. Or maybe that means my care for Dark Phoenix is dropping even lower. GIT GUD!!

In comparison, I think WB and crew was overselling Justice League to the point that everything Fox is doing is smooth sailing.

How does Ragnarok have the same tone as First Avenger? First Avenger was pre disney. Its more a Fox type serious film than a McDisney kiddy one like Ragnarok.

How does Ragnarok have the same tone as First Avenger? First Avenger was pre disney. Please, this old excuse? You DO know the real reason Anti-MCU people say the MCU Films are "Mc" anything or "Assembly Line" is, right? It's because they get their movies done on-time, on-budget, they don't have delays, they don't hire prima donna actors nor Control Freak directors. THAT is the only "Assembly Line" stuff involved.

Its the truth. Films like First Avenger and Iron Man 1 are very close to origin films like X1, Batman Begins, Spiderman 1. They share similar tone of humour, extended dialogue scenes, classical villains, slower paced methodical style film making instead of garbage like Ragnarok. The good scheduling may be so, but thats what Tye Sheridan is talking about: the MCU movies just feel and look recycled and obviously meant for mass audience checklisting. Theres no real art or craft to their approach wheras films like Logan, Deadpool and DOFP bring something new and fresh to the genre each time.

Nah, they aren't as ashamed of themselves as those are (except maybe Spidey 1) Ragnarok did have extended dialog scenes, they just refused to make the villains the stars of the show and had enough plot they didn't feel the need to grind the pace to a snail's crawl. But this shows the variety between First Avenger and Ragnarok, proving my point. So he doesn't like they put the extra effort into showing it's all one Universe. So are lots of things. If you think the movies should be excuses for Prima Donna Directors to twist the source material out of whack. DOFP was nothing new, Deadpool was flash in the pan and Logan only got a good reception from being Jackmans' last time.

lol, tell me what's new baby. But some just need their formula. He hasn't a leg to stand on, the FoX-Men movie do what he says other Marvel films so...just that Fox does it way more poorly and needs gimmicks like AU futures to be relevant.
