I go a few times a year. Generally, only when I'm going to see a film.

In the Unusual Casting: Comics Division of my mind, I've often thought that Danny DeVito could provide an excellent choice as voice of the Thing, should a good Fantastic Four film or animated feature ever happen. Possibly a great Lobo, too. Hmmmm.

I'm seeing it, too, but only now and then. Sometimes when I'm typing, I have to wait for it to "catch up" to see if I have a mis-spelled word, etc.

I'm always the skeptic on TV and films, but found The Wire to be quite excellent. It took a few eps for it to take hold of me, but it has a fine quality that most shows lack: realism. Give it time; I can nearly guarantee that you won't regret the investment.

I've watched the premiere episode, aaaannnnd..... I didn't like a single character. Not one. And I felt that the plot beats felt a bit forced. I won't watch it again unless I begin to hear some GREAT buzz about the show. Not intense or exciting, either. And not even a grin from humorville. I should note here that I am a huge fan of high-quality crime drama, especially when there is some dark humor added.

The numbers now must be tremendous! I know that back when I was a touring musician (many years ago, kids!), the majors each released about 15-20 new releases each and every week of the year, and on average, only one of those releases would spawn a hit single each week....sometimes more, sometimes less. The biz has always been a matter of "throw as much shit at the wall as you can, because we only need ONE HUGE HIT LP to pay for it all." That, my fellow players, is also exactly why musicians have been getting a contractual stroking since music has been being packaged and sold. The labels want to produce the most product they can for the least investment.

it's better than Resurrection. Sure, but that's like saying a Ribeye is better than a burger from the Dollar Menu.

All the critics are saying it's better than all of the sequels, but pirates 2 has 53% on rotten tomtoes and pirates 3 has 50%. So that means the critics are REALLY hursh on this movie. Jn reality, this movie probably deserves a score at around 65% Sure, but 65% was still very near a failing grade (60%) when I went to school.

I've been a huuuuge Archer fan for about a year now (yeah, I know....I'm behind the times. What can I say? I'm an old guy in his 50s). I've loved nearly every episode, and enjoyed every season. Until the 8th one, that is. Season 8 has been nothing but a chore to get through. I'll never, ever re-watch Season 8, either. And I've seen some episodes from Seasons 1-7 several times, and will watch them many more times, I'm sure.

I have began to re-read Marvel from FF#1 (1961) forward. It will take me a few years, as I do not have the disposable "comics time" I used to have. I believe that Marvel really lost their way at about the time that McFarlane and Liefeld began to explode onto the scene. That will be my "jumping off" point in the re-reading. There have been a few great story-lines since then ("Siege" being one), but they are very few, and very far between. I'll be happy to finish the entire Marvel chronology through the very early 1990's, and then....I'm gone forever, other than the occasional glance. My biggest problem with current Marvel? The art. It either is very derivative of the plethora of comic artists today, or so individually styled that it takes the reader completely out of the story, and into some artists' half-assed masturbatory museum of style.
Where's the Romita (Sr.), the Simonson, the Byrne? Or the Buscemas? No one draws with a damned pencil anymore, either. It doesn't even look like comics anymore, it looks like a freaking generic art school exploded on the page.
Colorists working by computer have also ruined comics. Shadow and color changes on costumes & backgrounds used to be implied by pencil (thank God for Jack Kirby).
In other words, comics have become much less organic, and way too sanitized/perfect for my (perhaps too sensitive) needs as a reader.
Peace.

I am agnostic at best. Faaarrrr away from the rightwingers. I am extremely into the sciences, especially prehistory. For the life of me, I don't understand the tranny tolerance these days. If I said that I identified as a Oldsmobile, would you change my oil? Rotate my tires? Touch my dipstick? .....or would you have me committed, so that I could get some sorely-needed help?
penis = man vagina = woman
End of story.
