I'm curious what you mean by your first statement. There are many religions that are not based around believing in God. Buddhism is one example where belief in God is optional and not terribly relevant. Well whether buddhism is a religion or nt is up for debate but lets say for a second that Buddhism, Confucianism etc are religions it doesnt change the fact that what Skyhawk is saying is utterly absurd.

It has been brought to my attention just how much 'some' Atheists obsess over religion. I don't know how many times I've seen, read, or heard Atheists get really mad about people believing in God, Allah, Jehovah, or even reincarnation or spiritual philosophy. Why? If you don't believe it, why insist on making people who do feel inadequate? Why try and undermine someone who does? There are some Atheists who obsess over telling people religion isn't real and how fake their beliefs are. I don't believe in unicorns, do you know how many times I've thought of Unicorns in my life? Probably a handful of times, and it's usually someone who brings them up. If Randy Rando told me "I believe Unicorns exist in the South Pacific, they have magic rainbow powers that revive Bigfoot Yeti's in the Rocky Mnts if they truly believe in their magic." I wouldn't get mad at them. I don't care So why get mad if a Christian or Jewish person has beliefs that you think are fairytales? Is it perhaps that you do feel they may be right and have merit, but the anger comes from a place of self doubt? I think it's FOMO - otherwise known as Fear of Missing Out - that's if they're 13-25 year old chinbeards. Otherwise it's fury that there are people who don't obey them, they want control! Yes, and self-doubt! They are terrified that we might be correct...

Second, pretty much all atheists live around religious people. Third, there are religious people who look to impose their views on others. 1. Lolwut? Is this your "Buddhism is atheism" again? 2. Not outside the USA no, they don't. 3. Again, not outside the USA. When was the last time any "religious" person entered the night club and tried to impose her views on you?

Another reason is that society bombards us with religious thought; TV shows depict scenarios of someone praying for a patient, and the patient, above all odds, has a full recovery.
See, I have never seen that on television - it's usually the opposite, with an angry atheist telling whoever did the praying that she ought to have known that Dad would die!

The likely answer is they feel that they are being forced to become believers because other people believe which, while retarded, is a consistent issue brought up by theophobiacs. So, you're intolerant of the disabled.

What does fleetsin know about the real world that hundreds of millions of others don't. All you know is how to be insecure and afraid.

First we need to identify exactly who you are talking about.
The atheists you are talking about fall into one of two categories, the angry atheist and the fake atheist. They both only exist on the internet.
The angry atheist tend to believe that because they are atheists it makes them smarter and wiser than anyone who might believe in a god.
They will not hesitate to let you know this minute you indicate you believe. They mock and ridicule religion and the religious thinking that they will convince you of their own superiority.
Mostly it is Christian bashing as that is the religion that they were brought up in and the most prominent in the western world.
Some claim that they are simply trying to show the relgious the error of there ways and may even believe that they convert people with their tactics.
The truth is that they are really cowards and do not have the conviction to do it any where but on the internet.
It is best to read there drivel with a grain os salt if at all and look for those people who can discuss relgion without the snark.

You said in another thread that Buddhism wasn't a religion. I realise you have challenges keeping your lies consistent but which is it? A religion or not a religion?

PD has been maintaining for years that "atheists are all religious because Buddhism is an atheist religion".. I was simply asking if that was his point. I personally neither know nor care. I am not surprised that you ignore the other points.

You were happy enough before to say that Buddhism wasn't a religion when it suited your argument and now that it doesn't you appear to be reversing that position. I just wanted to know if you actually have any honesty within you?
