Literally nobody is buzzing about this reboot.
I work with kids. You hear them talking about Fate of the Furious, even GotG vol. II. etc..
But I haven't heard anyone, kids, adults, whatever talk about Spider-Man Homecoming. It comes out in just a few short months. I even hear boys talking about "Wonder Woman" being badass.

Because they are not in the Promotion stage yet. Check back around May when they go full on Promotion with this.

I think people are burnt out on the character.

I think people are burnt out on the character. Also, his movies haven't been the greatest. The best compliment his movies have gotten is that Doc Ock was an awesome villain...

Oh, look, mello found another excuse to take pot shot at the competition and then wonders why I have such disdain for DC fans.

The millennial spidey movies were wretched and is there any reason to think the new millennial spidey will be any better?

There's not much to talk about. We got one trailer and that's it and the footage was mostly high school stuff with a glimpse of Vulture. Maybe when we get another trailer we'll see more buzz.

pretty sure kids aren't talking about thor3 or jl either, proper promotion hasn't started. now if kids weren't talking about it immediately after that first trailer......yeah i'd be concerned, but at the moment it's fine.

It's the third incarnation of Spider-Man. It's hard to generate hype after fifteen years. It's a Marvel movie so people will still see it.

I think even the first Andrew Garfield movie had "okay" reviews. But they are merely good. Raimi's Spider-man movies are too Raimi. Raimi's style is so cheesy he has to have a cow always on set to keep him in supply. Then you have the check list of things that has to be in all Raimi movies. Garfield's Spider-man was better, but the movies were kinda sideways to Raimi's that, after a while, you see how studio made they are. The 1st one was pretty much Raimi's movie beat for beat with Lizard instead of Goblin. The second one was pretty much Batman v Superman. You can see them trying to go for that Avengers money with a Spider-man universe. Yes, the 1st 2 were well received, but you have to think about what the climate for CBMs was like back then. Spider-man and DC's 2 big guns were the most well known characters. Would those movies (the Spider-mans) have been well received if Raimi made them, as they are, now? The way people see CBMs these days is very different from 15 years ago.

How many times can they reinvent the wheel with Spiderman, Batman, and Superman? It's time to move on. I'm excited for Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

Because Batman, Spider-Man and Superman are bigger sell points? Aquaman and WW will fail. WW will be crushed by her competition, and Aquaman is not interesting enough.

Check back 5 or 6 weeks before it comes out and it's starting to get hyped.

Personally? It would bring me incredible glee and joy to see the flick fail and the Spider-Man license revert somehow to Sony or otherwise slip out of Disney's greedy and exploitative grasp. Also they haven't made a Spider-Man movie anybody besides me liked in thirteen years, and the last one I enjoyed was the reviled third installment -- primarily as a guilty pleasure. There's just ZERO momentum for the franchise or the character at this point.

At leas they aren't going for that sell-out "grounded" approach that nearly destroyed Comic Book Movies.
