Awesome news Deb thanks for these updates! That Firestarter remake sounds good and the story should appeal to a wide audience, even those who haven't read the book. It's not so much a horror story as it is sci-fi, but still solid. The Bogeyman is one of my favorite short stories of all time and I was completely blown over by the twist ending the first time I read it. I don't know if they'll adopt that for the movie but I'm looking forward to it. I hope we get news - and footage! - after the Castle Rock premiere at Comic Con. Hopefully we'll get feedback on the show too. Nice to know that Alan Pangborn will be in the show. I do hope Polly Chalmers and Norris Ridgewick show up too. Maybe Ace Merrill as well. The episode synopsis is intriguing. The four eps don't sound like they're supernatural horror, but we'll see.

The episode synopsis is intriguing. The four eps don't sound like they're supernatural horror, but we'll see. You’re welcome and yes, the ‘Firestarter’ movie sounds awesome and I think if done right it could be very successful and appeal to a wide audience as you mentioned. I noticed there has been talk about Drew Barrymore returning to play the role of Charlie’s Mum, Victoria McGee – a role that was played by Heather Locklear in the 1984 movie and as a fan of Drew I wouldn’t mind seeing her play that role but I am not sure if she would come back or not ‘cause she was offered the role of a grownup Charlie in ‘Firestarter 2: Rekindled’ and turned it down but after seeing that I don’t blame Drew ‘cause it was awful, disappointing and full of so many continuity errors. I talked about the sequel before and what annoyed me the most was I think a sequel about a grownup Charlie McGee could have worked and been really interesting but it was like the writers of that hadn’t read or watched it in over a decade and forgot heaps of things.
Drew Barrymore might be more willing to return for the remake if it is good and I read the Executive Producer of the remake (Martha de Laurentiis) worked on the original movie and surprisingly I heard John Carpenter was originally going to be the director of the 1984 movie but they decided to go with a different director when the remake of ‘The Thing’ didn’t go too well at the box office which seems like a bizarre move at the time when John had previous success with movies like ‘Halloween, ‘Escape from New York’ and ‘The Fog’ and most directors are known to have a few duds. Faith Akin will be in director’s chair this time and adapting the movie for Universal and Blumhouse and a lot of fans think Blumhouse is one of the best companies around today when it comes to making Horror movies and I also heard Stephen King will be involved in some capacity.
What is funny with the remake of ‘Firestarter’ is there have been people accusing them of plagiarism and saying Charlie McGee is a rip off of the character, Eleven from ‘Stranger Things’ and this reminds me of a fan letter I posted on the ‘Arrow’ board not long ago from a weird ‘Twilight’ fan who abused the creators of ‘The Wolfman(2010)’ movie for copying ‘Twilight’ and changing werewolves and they believed the creators of ‘Twilight’ created werewolves. They really should do some research BEFORE they accuse writers of ripping off other people like not only did the original ‘Firestarter’ movie come out in 1984 the novel it is based on came out way back in 1980. I am hoping we get to see footage of ‘Castle Rock’ too and one thing that has me interested in that show I wrote about on another thread is it is said to have quite a few actors from previous Stephen King movies and TV shows appearing in it and making guest appearances and Sissy Spacek and Rob Lowe are two names I heard will appear. Jane Levy who is the current favourite to play Batgirl in 'Batgirl' and 'Birds of Prey' is going to be one of the main stars of 'Castle Rock' and I think it is going to be a great show.

And speaking of Batgirl, your thoughts on DC choosing Cassie Cain over Barbara Gordon? The BOP cast includes BC, Huntress, Harley and Renee Montoya. No word if Barb is going to appear as Oracle. Could Renee end up as the Question in the film?

Could Renee end up as the Question in the film? I agree. They are hilarious and it just goes to show how much knowledge they lack when it comes to movies. I am not sure how they don't know who Stephen King 'cause he is one of the most well known Authors of all time but there are some young people that refuse to listen to any music that is made before 2010 and think it is all lame and irrelevant so there might also be people that feel the same way about movies, TV shows and novels. Some young people refuse to read these days period 'cause they see novels as something only old people read and they are missing out 'cause a lot of the greatest stories of all time have been novels and there are still many great novels coming out now. I read more novels and comic books than I watch movies and TV shows and right now there are heaps of great comic book series coming out that are unique and interesting and have great characters. One of the things I also like more about comic books than movies is they have a lot of awesome female lead series and LGBT lead series that are written and created by female writers and we have series like Witchblade, Red Sonja, Vampirella, Fathom, Hack/Slash, Dejah Thoris etc that were created by men that are mostly written by female writers now who have taken the series to new places.
There has been more news about Stephen King lately and it appears 'Creepshow' is being adapted into a TV show by the Executive Producer of 'The Walking Dead' and I heard there were plans to remake 'Creepshow' but I thought it was going to be as a movie so I am surprised they are going with a TV show and it has me wondering if this show will cover both 'Creepshow 1 and 2' and include the story that was cut out due to time and featured in the 'Tales from the Darkside' movie. Some people have been saying they might also add a few stories from Stephen King's short story collections but we will have to wait and see. There is also the video game of 'Mr. Mercedes' coming out and I am surprised it has taken this long to adapt a Stephen King story into a video game 'cause there have been a number of his novels I think could have worked as video games like 'The Stand' but looking at how long it took to get a 'Friday the 13th' game after the Nintendo game we probably shouldn't be surprised 'cause Horror stories and movies don't often get adapted into games.
'Castle Rock' is looking to be the best Stephen King TV show since 'Haven't which is funny in a way since it isn't really based on one of Stephen King's novels and it takes place in a universe where Stephen King's characters exist and features events that happened in a few of his novels which is what 'Haven' basically was even though it was loosely based on 'Who Killed the Colorado Kid.' A number of the Troubles were based on things that happened in other Stephen King books and there were a lot of references to his novels and characters that were named after characters from the novels. I am looking forward to seeing 'Castle Rock' and hope we get it here in Australia and don't have to wait until it comes out on DVD like we do with some other shows. Bill Skarsgard who played Pennywise in the latest 'It' movie is also going to be in it.
I heard about the 'Birds of Prey' movie and I am not sure what to believe at the moment 'cause DC haven't officially confirmed the lineup and it was officially confirmed by the showrunners of 'Gotham' Orphan (Cassandra Cain) is going to be in the final season with her Mother, Lady Shiva and they couldn't use Barbara Gordon 'cause there was a block on the character. Some sites have also pointed out it was confirmed Barbara Gordon is going to be Batgirl in the 'Batgirl' movie so it is possible 'Birds of Prey' will have Barbara Gordon as Oracle and the 'Batgirl' movie will be based on Gail Simone's series with her being cured and becoming Batgirl again. We will have to wait and see but there have been multiple contradicting reports about the lineup including Poison Ivy's inclusion. Yet another SK book will get a film adaptation. Stephen King’s From A Buick 8 Getting A Movie AdaptationPopular horror writer, Stephen King has a new book-to-film adaptation in the works with From A Buick 8. The announcement comes as Castle Rock is set to premiere on Hulu, another King adaptation that was developed with J.J. Abrams. One of King's lesser known works, From A Buick 8 was published in 2002. The novel marked the second time King's menacing force was a car, following his earlier work, Christine. Taking place in the the rural town of Statler, Pennsylvania, the story revolves around the state police and a secret they have hidden for two decades. Keeping a sinister 1954 Buick Roadmaster in the shed behind the barracks, the car is discovered to be a portal to another dimension According to Deadline, the film has been optioned for production under Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park Entertainment. William Brent Bell is slated to write the screenplay and direct the picture. Bell has directed a slew of horror films, including 2012's The Devil Inside and 2016's The Boy. Amritraj is set to produce the film, with Addison Mehr and Priya Amritraj serving as executive producers. Before his passing, the film was at one point in development as a vehicle for Night of the Living Dead‘s George Romero. King is no stranger to his works being adapted to the screen, and From A Buick 8 is the latest in a slew of projects. King's film adaptation of Firestarter recently got a new director with Faith Akin. Also set to helm King's Boogeyman are writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. His latest work, The Outsider, is slated to become a TV series, and Pet Sematary is said to be one of the scariest King adaptations yet. King's work often describes evil and mysterious characters and circumstances, and From A Buick 8 has the makings of another haunting tale. While it may not be considered one of King's more staple works, even his lesser known stories pack a sinister feeling that only the author can provide. The decision to have Bell as writer and director could also make for an overwhelming horror experience. Fans of King would hope, though, that Bell will work alongside the author to bring the original work to life. screenrant.com/from-buick-8-movie-stephen-king/

The first episode of Castle Rock was aired at SDCC and the feedback has been good, and hopefully the rest of the show is too.

I was just saying to you about that movie on the previous page and how George Romero and Tobe Hooper were lined up to direct it before and they have sadly passed away but it is good to see it is still happening and hopefully it goes through this time 'cause I think it could work as a movie. With all these Stephen King adaptions lined up I am curious if they will try to take any of them and make them into movie franchises like they did with 'Children of the Corn' which had its 10th movie earlier this year 'cause I could see them doing that with some of them if they are successful and it is kinda funny in a way how 'Dark Tower' which is a book series as most of us know has only got one movie but 'Children of the Corn' which was a short story has had 10 movies and then there was 'Sometimes They Come Back' which was another one of Stephen King's short stories that two sequels with 'Sometimes They Come Back... Again' and 'Sometimes They Come Back... for More' and the thing about the first was it was only supposed to be a short segment in 'Cat's Eye' but it was turned into a 97 minute TV movie.

The first episode of Castle Rock was aired at SDCC and the feedback has been good, and hopefully the rest of the show is too. Sadly, you are right. A lot of young people just don't enjoy reading anymore and they see books as old and boring and something they have to do for school but my youngest niece (Courtney) is different and she loves reading and she owns hundreds of books, dictionaries and encyclopedias and she knows a lot of big words my Sister and I don't know and has to explain them to us. Courtney is autistic and she is incredibly advanced for her age and she is currently in Primary School but her Teachers are having to give her work which is the equivalent to Year 11 and 11 'cause it is too easy for her. I grew up reading a lot of books and comic books and I read a heap of Stephen King books too and I have the original and uncut editions of 'The Stand' and have read both but it took me longer to finish the uncut version and for me it was around two months but I was busy with other things at the time. Aside from Stephen King and Horror and Thriller novels I read a lot of Lesbian Romance novels too along with biographies of artists and bands. Do you have a Kindle? I get a lot of books on there now but like albums I still prefer to buy some of them physically to go with my collection. I also read a lot of music magazines and I have heaps of them in boxes which I will probably end up throwing out one day 'cause they just take up room.
A lot of new authors are struggling these days 'cause the sales just aren't what they used to be for novels and as much as I like Kindle the cheap prices of books on there makes you wonder how anybody could make a living off being an Author these days. I think there are people watching movies and TV shows than novels now 'cause it is easier for them to do and a lot of young people have far more things than I had when I was younger and I didn't have the internet, Ipads and Iphones 'cause they weren't around and I remember getting a Gameboy when I was a teenager with Super Mario Land and I got other games like 'Kirby's Dream Land' and 'Tetris' and when Pokemon came out it become my favourite. The Gameboy was a really big thing at the time but looking back at those games they were so primitive compared to the games on Nintendo 3DS now.

Yet another SK book will get a film adaptation. Stephen King’s From A Buick 8 Getting A Movie Adaptation Thanks for posting that article hardball. I still believe The Dark Tower will better served as a mini series on TV. And that is why I have reservations about that Stand film. A faithful adaptation like the Langoliers runs 3 hours so imagine what a faithful Stand movie will be like. There will always be elements left off. I have seen the 2009 Corn film, the 1984 original and parts of Genesis. Which of those you've seen is your favorite? I haven't seen the sequels to Sometimes, and it's been forever since I've watched the first. I do recall being disappointed because the dark tone of the short story felt kind of watered down. Maybe it's time for a rewatch.

Alas, Deb, reading seems to be a lost art. In this day when everyone wants instant gratification, reading pages of a book is a foreign notion to some. When I was younger and had more time in my hands I would devour Stephen King books. I finished Pet Sematary and Salem's Lot in 3 days and the Stand uncut edition in 2 weeks. Since then life has gotten in the way and my eyesight has blurred as I got older. I can't read as much as I want, but I still listen to audiobooks whenever I can. Good point about the lack of SK video games. I could see the Stand as an RPG type, or the Mist as an FPS.
Good to hear Courtney is into reading and yes, autistic kids can display high levels of intelligence. And by reading she's going to have an advantage over those who depend solely on electronic means of getting info and being spoon fed facts. Like you I grew up reading a lot of books. However I didn't get into novels until I was in my late teens, and mostly I read Stephen King and Anne Rice. Most of the books I read are nonfiction about the supernatural, ghosts, UFOs, reincarnation, psychics, magic, new age, etc. I've been reading that stuff since I was 12 and I still watch YouTube documentaries about them today. It is hard to make a living as a novelist. Even if you write something good you'll need good word of mouth and even then it's hard to break through with so many in the field. King's first book Carrie was rejected by 4 publishers I think and I can't imagine how disheartening that is. At least today you can post your work online but that doesn't make it any easier to make a living off it. I don't have a Kindle, and I just use my tablet to download, read or listen to audiobooks. One of the reasons I like audiobooks is I can do other things while listening to the story, and it doesn't stress my eyes. They're not what they used to be I'm afraid. I don't have any music magazines, but I did have a lot of wrestling magazines dating back to the glory days of the 80s and I also had a lot of comic books. Those things are probably worth a fortune now on eBay, but my folks gave them away when moved to our new home. Mom also gave away my GI Joes, He Man and lego toys to my nephew because I had not idea I could sell them online lol. Glad you mentioned those gaming consoles, brought back memories. The first video gaming system I owned was Donkey Kong Circus Game and Watch.

I've seen the first 3 episodes of Castle Rock. It's a slow burn, deliberately paced but good. The characters are likeable and there are a ton of Stephen King Easter eggs, references to books, places, characters etc. Not yet scary but has the feeling it's building up to something. Will continue watching.

Maybe it's time for a rewatch. I agree. Actually I think ‘The Dark Tower’ should be made into a TV show like ‘Haven’ and ‘The Dead Zone’ and have it go for 6-7 seasons 'cause it would give them more time to play it all out and that was the original plan in 2007-2009 and J.J. Abrams was said to be working on it with Stephen King and two of the co-creators of ‘Lost’ and Stephen King was a fan of ‘Lost’ which was one of the reasons he was on board with it. I always wondered why it didn’t go through ‘cause I thought J.J. Abrams was a good choice to adapt it and now I know why and after J.J. Abrams, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof finished ‘Lost’ they found the idea of doing another 6-7 season TV show intimidating and frightening and J.J. said ‘The Dark Tower’ novels were some of his favourite books of all time and he didn’t want to screw them up.
After they dropped out Universal Pictures was said to be producing a trilogy of ‘The Dark Tower’ and a TV series which would have bridged the gaps between the movies and Ron Howard was set to direct but after pushing it back multiple times Universal Pictures decided to cancel development of 'The Dark Tower' altogether due to budget concerns. Ron Howard stayed on and Stephen King said he was confident Ron would get it made and they tried to get Warner Bros to pick it up and had Russell Crowe attached to play the lead but Warner Bros passed on it. Sony Pictures then picked it up and Liam Neeson was rumoured to play Roland but the role ended up going to Matthew McConaughey and we ended up getting the disappointing 2017 movie with Ron Howard still involved but no longer the Director. Sony was said to be following Universal Pictures' plan with multiple movies and a TV series that would have bridged the gap between the movies but due to it being widely panned by fans and critics the TV series was dropped. Now Amazon is adapting the TV series and it won't have any connection to the movie I am surprised they went with Amazon instead of the Syfy Channel after the Syfy Channel had 'Haven' and 'The Dead Zone' and gave both of them six seasons. I liked 'The Langoliers' even though it looked kinda cheap with special effects and you are right, to properly adapt 'The Stand' they need more than just one movie or it will be cut to shreds which is why I am happy to share this below. A 10 hour miniseries will be even longer than the previous adaption of 'The Stand' and will give them the additional time to do a lot of the things in the novel that the creators of the last adaption didn't include like the plane crash and the tornado and focus more on characters that were featured more heavily in the novel. With the 'Children of the Corn' movies I actually liked 'Children of the Corn 2, 3 and 4' even more than the first movie even though they weren't written by Stephen King and 5 and 6 weren't that bad either and 'Children of the Corn 666' had the return of Isaac and the main star was the daughter of one of the children in the original movie. 'Children of the Corn 2' was a direct sequel of 'Children of the Corn 2' much like 'Halloween 2' and it took place straight after the events of the first movie with the focus being on some of the remaining children moving to Hemingford which was a town right near Gatlin. I would recommend you watch the first three and if you like them watch 4, 5 and 6. I feel it went really downhill when they made 7 and 7 was more of a ghost story that was nothing like the previous movies. The first video gaming system I owned was Donkey Kong Circus Game and Watch. Yes. Reading does give a lot of young people an advantage these days over others who are heavily reliant on electronic devices and are always writing things like 'plz', 'how r u', cya' and 'brb' in SMS language on their mobile phones 'cause a lot of them have very poor literacy skills especially when it comes to spelling and comprehension and it amazes me how some people can get the simplest of words wrong like I make a few mistakes every now and then with the spelling of people's first and last names and I have been known to make some typos when I write too fast but simple words that are only 3-4 letters shouldn't be a problem and they are for people in their 30s and 40s who should know better. I was never as advanced as my youngest niece but I was ahead of all the children in my classes when I was her age and was often finishing my work before everybody else and I went on to get a lot of certificates at TAFE and University but I spent most of my time in University partying, drinking and having sex and it wasn't until I accidentally signed up for too many classes I had to take it seriously and that was a nightmare and I hardly had time for anything including my ex.
I liked reading nonfiction books about the supernatural, ghost stories and UFO sightings too and I can't say I have read much about reincarnation and psychics but I did read about magic when I was collecting books on Wicca and Witchcraft and real Witchcraft is very different than what it is made out to be in movies and TV shows. I don't watch many documentaries on You Tube but I watch a few on Foxtel and they have had a number of shows about the type of things you mentioned on the Discovery Channel and Bio Channel and my Uncle used to love shows like 'Chasing UFOs', 'UFO Hunters', 'Destination Truth', 'Finding Bigfoot' and 'The Lost Tapes' and Beccy and I used to watch a few of them too but the documentary shows we liked the most were pet shows like 'Too Cute', 'Bad Dog', 'America's Cutest Pet', 'Dogs 101', 'Cats 101' and 'Puppies vs Babies' but sadly they stopped airing a lot of those shows. We also watch 'Puppy Bowel' every year and we only saw the latest one very recently 'cause we are behind with it here in Australia.
It is hard to make a living as an Author and I remember reading 'Carrie' got rejected a few times and Stephen King considered giving up but his Wife, Tabitha kept encouraging him 'cause of how good of a writer he was and what is sad now is we have Authors here who have had a lot of successful novels that have been No. 1 Best Sellers but they are struggling to get books out now 'cause their names are no longer enough to guarantee publishers they will sell while at the same time publishers are taking less and less chances on new and upcoming writers and are mostly publishing Authors who have been around for years and it is a problem that many established Authors have spoken out about 'cause they want to see young writers get the same chances they did. I love Kindle 'cause you can get a lot of books on it that are hard to get physically and without Kindle I wouldn't have discovered some of my favourite Lesbian Romance novels like 'The Gravity Between Us' by Kristen Zimmer which was one of the few books I bawled my eyes out reading.
I have some old wrestling magazines too but I never collected them the same way I collected music magazines. I got a lot of magazines of TV shows like 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Angel', 'Alias', 'Charmed', '24', 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch', Smallville' and 'Supernatural' and I also collected the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Angel', 'Alias', 'Charmed', 'Dawson's Creek' and 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' novels and I have heaps of them packed away in boxes and I am pretty sure I own all the 'Buffy' and 'Angel' ones. The first video game console I owned was a Sega Master System and I had a lot of games like 'Alex Kidd in Miracle World', 'Dynamite Dux', 'Teddy Boy', 'Wonderboy', 'Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap' and 'Bart vs the Space Mutants' on it.

Amazon rally wants to be a major player in the streaming service. They paid $250 million for the rights to Lords of the Rings, and the show will run for 5 seasons with a budget of $1 billion so I bet they put more money on the table than SyFy. Thanks for sharing that info about the Stand. This is a welcome development as they'll be able to feature more elements from the book that just isn't possible with a film. I do hope CBS' streaming service allows the show to depict blood, gore and violence. Nobody wants a watered down, sanitized version of the book. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Corn movies and I'll check them out. But Corn 7 became a ghost story really? Lol talk about loose adaptations

Oh man those SMS messages can be irritating. It took me a while to figure out what TLDR, ICYMI, AYOR etc. What's annoying is they also type this way in emails and forums. I hate to think of what they put in their job application forms lol. Deb I've books and gone to websites about Wicca and witchcraft too. Fascinating stuff and I haven't been read all of King's works, but has he written anything about witchcraft, like the hero or villain is a witch or the plot centers around witchcraft? That reaction you had while reading Gravity Between Us is a perfect example of the power of the written word. The most powerful experience I've had was fear after reading Pet Sematary. I couldn't go to the bathroom at night without opening the lights. Irrational, but that didn't change how I felt. I was also emotionally affected by the Anne Rice's Lasher Nowadays everything is presented in front of us in millions of colors and loud sound. With books it is different. Your imagination brings the words to life in your mind's eye. It gets to the point you can see the people, places and events in the book as clearly as you can read the words. I really pity those who don't read books or listen to audiobooks.

Stephen King's The Stand Will Apparently be a 10-Hour Miniseries for CBS All Accesswww.pastemagazine.com/articles/2018/04/stephen-kings-the-stand-will-apparently-be-a-10-ho.html My guess as to why they went with Amazon is a better offer. Lol talk about loose adaptations Yeah. It appears that way. I wasn't too sure about Amazon developing their own TV shows at first 'cause I thought they would make them cheaply and they wouldn't be that great but I heard they have had success with some of their shows so far and I thought 'The Handmaid's Tale' was one of them but then I found out later it was a Hulu show. It is hard to keep track of where some of these TV shows come from 'cause they air on completely different channels here in Australia than they do in America and a number of the Hulu TV shows air here on Fox 8 and SBS but then we have shows that air on networks in America like the Syfy Channel that are on Netflix here instead of the Australian Syfy Channel. We don't get many of the newest shows on the Syfy Channel anymore and have to wait until they come out on DVD 'cause rather than get more new shows that are on the American Syfy Channel the people who are running the channel decided to get repeats of shows like 'Buffy', 'Angel', 'Charmed' and Batman' and I am not sure why they are doing that now 'cause we used to get a lot of the newest Syfy shows a few years ago up to date like 'Haven' and 'Continuum' but now they have stopped.
Amazon aren't short of money 'cause they are one of the richest companies in the world so I am not surprised they could easily pay $250 million for the rights of 'Lord of the Rings' and they most likely will bring more money to the table than the Syfy Channel would but I remember Apple was supposed to make a service that would rival Netflix and they have the money to do that but I haven't heard any updates about that and I think they might have changed their minds. Hopefully Amazon do justice to 'The Dark Tower' novels unlike the recent movie 'cause I believe with the right writers 'The Dark Tower' could be very successful as a TV show and a lot of people see them as some of Stephen King's best work. It will be interesting to see what the new miniseries of 'The Stand' is like and like you I am hoping it isn't watered down 'cause that is the last thing we want and most watered down versions of movies and TV shows are hardly ever successful and lose fans and 'The Crow' TV show was hated by fans for being watered down in comparison to the movies.
'Children of the Corn 7' did indeed go on to become a ghost story and it killed the franchise for along time 'cause we didn't get the remake until 8 years later and it wasn't until after that we got 'Children of the Corn: Genesis' and 'Children of the Corn: Runaway' and there have been a number of Horror movies that have completely strayed away from what they were originally and 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' went from being a movie about serial killers dressed up as Santa Claus killing people to a movie about demonic cults who were kidnapping and impregnating women with their demon offspring and it makes you really wonder what these companies are thinking when they do it 'cause they shouldn't have the same names at all but I think they do it to cash in on the success of the previous movies and con fans into watching them 'cause they know they are more likely to watch those movies if they are a fan of the franchise than watch them if they gave them new names.

They sure are and I am somebody who doesn't do a much texting on my mobile phone and prefers talking to people and a number of my friends are that way too and I think we are just getting old and are not up to date with all the latest forms of communication like I wouldn't have a clue how to do half the things on my mobile phone my cousins know how to do on their IPhones and they change things so often these days they say they have trouble keeping up to date with some things too. I am still learning new ones every day I have to look up on Google and another one I left out the other day that confused me at first was idk (I Don't Know) and I had no idea what that meant when I first saw it and I thought it might have been a face so I was turning from the side to look at it and then I worked out that it meant 'I don't know' and it does make you wonder what they write on their job applications and how some of them even finish High School but they might have their teachers writing the proper words in for them so they can pass.
I used to be an Admin and moderator on a few forums including one which was the official forum for a music channel but after Beccy and I had to deal with one very disturbed and psychotic asshole who was obsessed with the size of his penis and his crazy friends we stopped writing on forums altogether for over five years and the first one I joined was the IMDB Boards which I was first a member of in 2007 but left 'cause I just didn't have time for it back then when I become a moderator for the music channel and after not writing on any forums or social networking sites for all those years I noticed there were a lot of new internet slang words and terms I wasn't very familiar with so it was confusing but I know more of them now. Much like reading there are some people that don't see any value in the English language anymore and they don't spell (or in some cases use) simple words correctly and make up their own shorter versions of words 'cause they don't want to write out the words and I am the opposite and prefer writing full words than shortened versons.
To my knowledge there haven't been that many Stephen King novels which have had witches and witchcraft in them and there was one short story called 'Gramma' in 'Skeleton Crew' that was about a witch and they actually used the story for an episode of 'The New Twilight Zone' and there was 'Thinner' under the Richard Bachman name that had a gypsy that put a curse on the main star which is kinda similar to witchcraft but Stephen King hasn't covered witches or witchcraft in many of his books. He has covered vampires more and there have been multiple Stephen King novels that have had vampires in them. There are a few other classic Horror creatures he has not covered at all in his novels which is surprising especially when he mentioned being a big fan of some stories about them in his 'On Writing' novel and I think it might be 'cause he hasn't come up with a story he believes could do them justice so he avoids writing about them and focuses on things he can do which is understandable but still surprising with Stephen King who is largely considered one of the greatest Horror Authors of all time.
You are right about 'The Gravity Between Us' and I often find myself more emotionally connected to characters in novels than movies and TV shows and I get way more turned on reading Lesbian Romance and Erotica stories than Lesbian porn 'cause there is a build up between the characters that is missing in porn and with some very rare exceptions porn generally goes straight to the sex scenes and there isn't anything else with it so you don't feel anything emotional for the characters. Some Romance novels are very steamy and would be difficult to adapt into mainstream movies without cutting a lot of things out of them and a lot of my hetero friends who were fans of the '50 Shades of Grey' books hated the movies 'cause they were cut down, the movies focused more on Dakota Johnson being naked in full frontal scenes and you didn't get to see a penis and I think movies like that would be better to adapt as porn movies but with proper writers and directors.

Deb I recall watching Silent Night on VHS. I rented the tape and I think it was part 3 - the one where psycho Santa goes after a blind girl - and I thought it was ok. I rented Silent Night 4 and was surprised that it had no connection to the 3rd but I still liked it. Silent Night 5 Toymaker wasn't good though. Have you seen any of the Witchcraft films? I saw Witchcraft years ago and forgot about it. Then while I was looking up old horror movies on Imdb I was shocked to see there's a Withcraft 16.
