I like both films very much, but there really isn't an effective way to compare them. I like Lasagna and chocolate brownies, but they aren't interchangeable.

They're both different and try to accomplish different things, they both do each equally as good I think. I don't know if I can compare them really.

I didn't say which one's best, I said which do you prefer. Perhaps you like them equally, which is fine. I think it's possible to assess both objectively as pieces of cinema and determine which is better.

I love Kane. Clear favourite of these 2 for me. GWTW has 2 great lead performances. It was my mother's favourite movie.

CK is pretty far down the list of my favorite movies, but I do like it for its innovations in cinematography and story-telling. GWTW is #1 for me.

I'm opposed to racism, of course, but a lot of older movies reflect the attitudes, values, and prejudices of their time. It is unfortunate, but I don't blame the movie for that and it doesn't lessen the quality of the film.

I saw GONE WITH THE WIND on the big screen 4 times when I was a teenager, and loved it. Seen it countless times on DVD and TV, but I just can't watch it anymore. Sorry. I love MANDINGO, though. What do you think of this one?

Gone with the Wind by a mile. I watch it whenever it's on. Saw Kane all the way through once. It's good but I have no desire to watch it again.

Citizen Kane is my #3 all time.
Gone with the Wind would not make my top 100. I've seen it once, it's very good, I have no desire to ever re-visit.
